Boot into recovery
wipe data/cache
factory reset

should clear some things up

well depends on what all you wanna back up..

You can connect ur phone to your computer and just physically copy the files/folders on your interal and sd card

then there are apps that will back up your call log, system settings, txt messages, ect ect
