good time to get a leftover 06 ?
You guys obviously dont follow motorsports or understand the basic fundamentals (no offense)
I'll bow out now, theres not point, when you are both convinced underpowered cars magically handle better
When you can give me some scientific proove that a motors output has a single thing to do with suspension geometry and overall weight/balance of a car, let me know

I'll work on that.
There's alot of proof out there.
For ideal power and handling the components of the suspension will need to be tuned and adjusted to allow the car to handle better.
If power has no affect on handling, why then do companies like HKS, JIC, Helix, etc...offer suspension compnents?
Because if power does not affect handling then OEM should be just fine.

The S2000 is a nice car and one of a kind and if you are getting it for invoice or below go for it. If its the car that you have always wanted, buy it. If your getting it for performance reasons, go with the WRX. That is just my opinion.

They offer suspension components because people want their cars to handle better, period. Again, thats independent of power.
Just because a car's engine is capable of entering a corner at XXX speed, doesnt mean you SHOULD enter at that speed. That corner entry speed determined by the cars chasis/suspension/weight/etc, NOT THE ENGINE
If you want to enter the corner faster (and your car is capable of it), then you obviously need to updrage the suspension/brakes/tires.

so if your car is capable of more power than you need more suspension so therefore power does affect handling. thanks
ucbsti is right:
- power and handling are hardly connected
- power is output: force to the wheels and the wheels move
- handling is vehicle dynamics: weight balance, suspension geometry
- stock for stock and same driver: s2k > wrx

NO!!!
You guys are so hardheaded. Thats 100% DRIVER ERROR then if you enter a corner too fast.
Ill say it again, JUST BECAUSE YOUR CAR HAS XXXX POWER, DOESNT MEAN YOU ALWAYS NEED TO USE IT ALL
If you enter a corner faster than the car is capable of, thats 100% YOUR fault, not the engines. Is that so hard of a concept to grasp? Its like guys who dont brake enough at the track and enter corners hot and under/over steer as a result
Thats not the motors fault, its the drivers

the best advice i ever got from a suby guru was that the best mod you could do for your car is driving school. once you learn how your own car works, you wont find yourself buying innocuous 'upgrades'.

loved the handling, absolutely loved it. straightline acceleration was fast for me ( i drive a 110hp EJ18 L, remember? ) but nothing compared to the WRX. the OP wanted to know if he was getting a good deal on the S2K in comparison to the current prices of the WRX. he asked for our opinion. therefore, i give him mine.
And if anyone thinks that because i drove the S2K and like ( love, actually ) the S2K that im a convert to the ( insert obligatory sarcastic remark ) Honda camp, read below....
Theres always a time where you have to make a change
