What are you looking at for the Impreza? STi or WRX?

Subaru usually doesn't do to big of a discount on year end clearances. You will usually see an 06 sell for the same (or damn close to) price as the 07.....

I'd say if you are going between the 06 WRX and the S2000...get the 4 door. Most likely somewhere down the line you will start kicking yourself for buying a 2door rag top....

The specials that Subaru is offering is the low APR. If you haggle the salesman you should be able to pick one up at or near invoice, but no other specials are out there for a Subaru. I say +1 for the Subaru.

S2000 has 237Hp
Torque 162 @ 6800

WRX has 230Hp
Torque 235 @ 3600

How exactly is the S2000 better than the WRX? Just curious as to everyones reasons. I'll admit if you are looking at a Roadster, you have the Miata and the S2000 or the 350Z (which is $$) of the Miata or the S2000....I'd pick the S2000 too, but performance wise...the S2000 doesn't have the grunt.

you cant only think about HP figures. Sure itll beat it in a straight line, but IIRC, anyone interested in straight line performance wont be buying a 30k 4banger

don't forget that the s2000 is also around 2850 lbs and the wrx around 3200 lbs

not to mention the s2000 handles better than a wrx (both in stock form)

There are a lot of reasons to get a s2000 over a wrx. Just like there are a lot of different reasons that a wrx is better than a s2000

Yeah, not everyone wants a 4door, not everyone wants awd, the s2k styling is one of a kind, etc etc etc

If you are talking hp numbers only, you should buy a v8

/\ well yeah...generally things that are slower handle better....

I wanted to dig up weight figures but the Honda site has the curb weight as TBD....
I imagine that it is lighter, but still the difference will still put the power in the Subaru's corner.

The other reason I wouldn't go with the S2000 is the theft-ability of the rag top.

Not trying to be difficult....just want to see the reasoning, or if it's just a "gotta have it" factor.

I've known a few people that have had S2000's and have always regretted the lack of performance that the car has. (same with some of the RX-8 owners I have known)

And as far as a V8....I'm not a fan of displacement.

I dont even see why you are arguing this point. He didnt ask if he should get a s2k over a wrx, he asked if he was getting a good deal on an s2k, but I'll respond to your comments anyway

To say slower things handle better, thats absolutely absurd. The chevy aveo I had as a rental was slow as **** and handled like ****

The s2k DOES handle better, hands down. Its lighter, better weight balance, better suspension geometry, doesnt understeer, etc etc. Its a well tuned car with one of the best gear boxes ive ever felt.

Its not just about hp numbers, the fit and finish of the s2k also blows the wrx out of the water

And if you arent a fan of displacement, then you arent a fan of going fast.
