There are some very responsible young drivers out there, albiet not many... there are some. It's a matter of personal responsibility and fully understanding that driving is a priviledge, not a right.
I know many people in that age group who own, and responsibly operate their cars, and none of them are dead as of yet.
Forgive the bitterness, but an assumption like that only displays your own conclusion, not a fact.

19 about to be 20 next month...i went back to AAA and got full coverage on my 01 RS for 2667/yr mercury (who i was with from april until sept 14th) was a total of 3845/yr so i cut them loose very quickly after i was curious and asked AAA for a quote
If you get a higher deductable, your monthly payments should be lower. The only thing bad with that is incase of an accident, make sure you have the deductable amount saved up.
im 16, and its an 04 WRX.
380 a MONTH....but I dont pay that..
Here is what I did:
Inshure 240sx under my name for 120 a month, inshure my WRX under my dads name for 60 a month.
so I pay 180 a month for 2 cars.
