Depends which part. I bought my first RS in early 2000, and bought those JDM tail lights the next week. That's when all the planning, plotting, budgeting, etc (basically all the paperwork and dreamin' ) started. I wrecked my first RS, and got another one (an 01) after that. did a turbo kit, went through a few motors, then I did a N/A build. Once emissions was coming up, I knew I had to do a swap. I finished the Sedan JDM ver. 8 swap last year, and it was totaled in an accident in late Sept. last year. It took 5 or 6 months to get my totaled shell back from the insurance. then I stripped it and made a list of all the parts I needed to replace. I salvaged what I could, bagged and tagged everything, and boxed it up. I picked up this shell the day after Valentine's Day this year. That's when this build pretty much started.

Great project. Can't wait to swap mine, even though I have to wait until after I graduate from college.

/\ At least the costs should go down on the drivetrains by then!

Update:
The roof is on, getting a new windshield and the rear window installed this week, front half should be preped and primered by the end on the week. still have to fix a few small dings it the back half, and shave the side moldings and radio antenna hole. The painted said he should be able to get it all done by the end of next week!

That's the plan. I am kind of planning for street car status. Nothing too fancy. No roll cage, all the seats in place, maybe stock STi drivetrain for a little while. Should be cool.

Full interior, Full stereo system w/ 2 amps, sound deadening. Ran a 13.01 at 107 MPH with a 2.2 60 ft. I pulled a 1.78 60 ft that night, but missed a gear.
This time I wanted it to be faster and handle better, so I did all the weight reduction. Once I have the door panels made it will be similarly equipped as a Porsche 911 RS.

-Update:
Roof is installed, windshield and back glass should be installed tomorrow. Front half and roof should be primered by the end of the week, as well as some of the body work. My paint guy feels confident that he can get it done by the end of next week!

Thanks alot, It's been soooo much work, it's nice to finally have something to show for it!

I'll snap some pictures later today once the glass is back on, I'm going to install the trunk as well so it'll pretty much be a complete car! I'm just putting it on so I can drive it home, It's gonna have to come off again for paint but I don't want to drive down the road without a trunk! I think the JDM rear bumper and the side skirts will go on later next week, after the shell is painted.

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures, I spent the day at the baby doctor and didn't have time. but the front and back glass are installed, and I have the trunk on there as well. I'm going to bring it home in the morning before I take it to the body shop again, I'll take some pictures.

New pictures. Did a little shake down cruise back to the house from the body shop, going to clean up the interior a little now the roof and glass are installed. Taking it back to the body shop Thursday to get the front prepped and primed, should have that done by the end of the weekend.

So I installed the new grill, I'm going to keep this stick RS grill and the C-west one and get them both painted, I like them both. I threw on a pair of the new wheels to see how they looked and fit. look great, loads of brake clearance, especially in the back. taking it back to the body shop tonight to get some more work done on it.
