That all depends on where you start the trail. Assuming you start from lower lot, it's about three to four miles in. I don't have any GPS plots of just FDLT, but in the below image, it's the nasty guy there just before the nine-mile mark:

If you want to dust off the cobwebs I'm doing a couple of shuttle runs on Culvert/Confluence on Saturday: 1:-1:15ish @ the bottom of 49. There are plenty of drops and jumps on that run...

I rode with the IMBA group Saturday. We divided into three groups, fast medium and slow. I chose medium.
We went on a bunch of Auburn trails that I didn't know existed. We eventually tied into Manzanita and Upper Stagecoach. The beginning of the ride was over near where they were going to build the dam that would have flooded the canyon. There was an overlook that had a very cool view of the area.
It was a very fun ride and wish you guys could have been there.

FWIW, the outlook above the dam ties into Olmstead, although part of it is *technically* closed.

On the ride they were talking about how nice it would be if you could tie into Olmstead. The last I saw, they had it closed because they were doing quarry work. I have wondered about doing it on a Sunday when the quarry guys aren't around. It isn't exactly environmentally sensitive since they have been using dynamite and bulldozers there.
