But that's besides the point.... apples to apples... same dyno.
Take a stock STI... EJ257/vf39 then take a EJ257 block and EJ20 heads... there is no way that the one with smaller heads is going to put down more hp than the one with better flowing heads.
So all this is a pointless debate.
That's why I said I could search graphs and find one to prove my point. It's pointless.
Were the numbers given... 220/295 on mike's mustang? If not then it's pointless to compare his car to an sti. You have to compare his car to what an sti did on the same dyno.
That's why I asked for the dyno chart. People talk all kinds of **** when they sell cars. I nearly bought one that the dude was claiming like 320whp. I test drove it and said... no way in hell that's 320whp. Where's the chart. No chart... it's bull****.
So that's why this is all pointless.
Get a few more parts on there. Go get a pro tune. You'll have more than a stock sti.... if that's your goal.

do you have a dyno graph for your car? I'm curious.
Being at 220hp and nearly 300 tq seems odd to me. Seems like to get that high in the torque values it should be more like 250-260hp.
with a few more parts and a decent tune you can put down a lot more than a stock sti.
But unless you have a really aggressive tune and your numbers are over 220 you just don't.

These two are done by the same tuning shop so im assuming its the same dyno (mustang)

But mods for mods, the STi engine would always put down more power than a Hybrid motor.

So assuming stat correction, than that Hybrid engine should be making close to 300hp, cause the STi's are supposed to come with 300hp. I find it next to impossible that a TD04 would be able to support that. Considering everybody replaces it to get higher power numbers. Whether 2.0 or 2.5.

I wouldn't believe anything someone else said.
Just going off percentages that huge... that's nearly 25% more torque than HP. That's substantial. 10-15% is normal.
But hell. I'm no tuner. I'd believe whatever the hell mike told me when it came to tunes. Period.
I know. As do the VF39 builds in general. But not that much. That's why I asked if you had a chart.

and I wasnt saying I know for fact I make more than an STi its just a conclusion (im hoping for) based upon similar setups and their dyno results.
i probably have vacuum leaks and exhaust leaks and all that crap though haha.

Oh shoot... then yeah... on a td04 there is no way in hell you're over a stock sti. Period. No way in hell. That thing must spool like crazy.

Fwiw, ed's software/dyno says stock sti's put down around 225whp...wrx about 170 I think...
Most of his stage 2 sti setups are around 260-290whp with around 300-320wtq

I think most stock WRX's I've seen are in that 165 area. There's a freak here and there but those numbers look about right to me.
But most sti's i've seen are 245ish.
This has always been my beef with subaru... the STI doesn't put down enough hp.
