turbo upgrade/management

askn for a friend,
i used the search, found little stuff but not xactly what im lookn for
question: he wants to order the vf34 package from gruppeS (sti injectors, walbro pump, and the vf34 turbo), would his car run ok without engine management, (plannin on the standalone or reflash later). i tol him already dont xpect to be making crazy gains without reflash. but is there going to be any problems he would face, when doing this mod with out engine management?

Don't do this with out engine management! Your friend is going to destory his engine without calibrating for the new mods ....

I think we can omit the name-calling. At least his friend learned enough to ask about engine management and was just asking a specific question.

goodness, why would anyone consider that much more air and fuel without some sort of engine management. reflash is cheaper, but twice the downtime (or more) for your car to not have a ecu and sit there and do nothing like mine is..(broke tranny, waiting on full RA tranny to arrive) and believe you me...it's torture to look at the car everyday and not drive it knowing its SOO fast...oh I am about to break down and cry right now...I gotta go outside and look at it........good luck

The injectors won't run right without EM. Then car will barely be drivable.

i was told you can run the bigger turbo and run low boost, but it wont really make a difference in hp gains. slower if anything
