loss of boost @ 5250?
Anyone know why I would be losing considerable boost @ about 5250 rpm...It's less noticeable in 1st gear, but 2nd & 3rd feels like the computer kicks in and limits the boost thru redline - my only mods are a perrin lightweight pulley, panel filter, gfb 50/50 bov, grounding kit and iridium plugs. Any insight would be helpful.

You might want to switch back to the stock bypass valve (BOV) and see if that cures the problem. I had a lot of issues with the GFB 50/50 on my WRX. I ended up removing it altogether.

also, keep in mind that if you are still running on the stock turbo/stock ecu(no reflash)....you will notice that after about 5250-5500 the turbo will "flatten out," Basically the turbo is just about maxxed out, at cant produce much more "go" at that point. A reflash will help this issue somewhat.....but the true fix for it is to upgrade the turbo then reflash the ECU.
In anycase, even if you are maxxing out the stock turbo....you wont see the boost level drop off too much.....it will just reach its maximum flow, it will drop off slightly, but then will hold thru redline.....if you are getting a sharp drop in boost levels, it could be some other issue.

The stock ECU pulls boost down to ~9psi by redline. With a reflash you can hold ~11-13psi depending on mods as well as significantly improve top end power with timing and fuel tuning.

I got my XEDE and i was running a stage 1 map and was having that same problem, more or less. I tried changing my BOV back to the stock one and it didnt make any diff. I would build boost till about 14 lbs and then it would drop back to around 8 at about 5k and stay there. I sent my XEDE back to shiv and hes lookin at it for me.
