Boost loss??

Boost loss??
Ok, here's my problem, by reading my factory gauge I read full boost in third gear, but when I get to 5,500 and above boost drops a few psi, but I don't notice too much of a difference?? The way I know this by is that I raced a mustang GT and beat him bad in the top end when my boost was down. I dunno is my gauge messed up? I put a blitz boost controller on but I took it off, I also had a up pipe leak but I fixed that today but still have the maybe loss of boost?? any thoughts?

The stock boost will taper off as you reach redline. If you still have your stock engine management, then that's the answer. Otherwise, I'm not really sure. Maybe a boost leak somewhere.
