Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Our drivetrain loss vs. Their drivetrain loss

How is it that a longitudinally mounted WRX engine has more drivetrain loss than a transversely mounts EVO engine?

Just look up some dyno numbers. At best its the same percentage of loss... which still seems unreasonable to me.

Hmm OK, I did more searching and it seems its all pretty even actually. I had heard very different numbers originally, like a low 20% drivetrain loss. But later reports seems to say somethin around 33%... and the WRX, is around 25%. OK, maybe I was off Nebbermind.

some manufacturers are more conservative than others and some are overly optimistic. Unless you dyno a car on a chassis dyno and then pull the motor and run it on an engine dyno you can only estimate drivetrain loss.
