i did 150mhp in my sti for about 3 seconds before i backed off, the car is capable of doing more. i think its top speed is 157. catless exhaust, down pipe, bov, intake, and vishnu xede chip. but i know even a stock sti can do 157 mhp........ i also would like to add, if you really want to notice and feel a diffrence in power gains your gonna have to replace the stock turbo. im not satified with 286 whp and 314 ft. lbs of torque........ i need more power. i want to kill everybody in sight, at the track and on the streets

When I hit my govenor it was on a flat ground. I also ran it past 145 more than once on the AKA rally in the middle of the desert. So I am going to call you out, and say you are full of BS. Also, since you have owned 2 prior Subies you should know that all WRX's/STi's have different top ends. Some WRX's cant hit 140, some can bury the needle. Do some searches and you will notice that every STi owner that has posted a top end speed is different from another.

call me out i will bet i have done more work to a boxer engine the you and you do relize that every speedo is off by a decant amount at that speed. i will trust car&driver over your bull **** anyday get you speed from something accurate then a ur speedo and you will find out like wise. like you posted before that the boxer engine is more advaned then the evo inline 4 the boxer design is more prone to E.D. then an inline 4 if subi could have ran 19 psi on it they would have look at the E.D. trouble they have with 91 octane on 15 psi could you imagine what 19 would be. i can tell you what its like on a 2.0 wrx with a vf 30 running 19 to 20 psi it took a lot of tuning to get it run ok and fmic.
If you have had two different subies and all this experience with the EJ's. Why havnt you posted more than 10 times? You proably also go by R&T's 1/4 mile times too. I was pointing out that Subaru got more power out of the motor with less boost. When Mitsu just took a DSM motor and added more boost. You just bought a 4 door Eclipse for $25,000 more. Have fun with your trans, it has similar charicteristics to the WRX's 5spd. THEY BREAK OFTEN.

haha you are not that smart if they break often how come so many people run low 11's with no trouble? how come my sti syncro went out with only 2500 miles? and my 5 speed in my subi held fine i sold with stock clutch and trans in good shape with 19000 miles on it. i posted on nas not i-club go to nas and check it out srry im not a post freak. have fun with you 2.5 popping at 300 whp like so many have done already. so an eclipse can out handle an STI? were are all the 10's street STI? where is the 500 whp sti on stock internals? more power out of 25% more displacement and on the same and its more at the crank then at the wheels torque is like 5 lbs if that and hp is 10 at most. that was on they same dyno bone stock. Go to nas and look up post by gaboon and basic he posted my pics heres a link to out site with pics of my wrx. http://www.ocgamers.net/site/modules...ght=420+hp+wrx
mistu didnt just do that the evo has always ran the 4g63. so you think you speedo is closer the a radar gun?

If you f**ked up an STi's trans in 2500 miles. YOU SUCK AT DRIVING A STICK! I have over 17,000 miles on mine with 30+ 1/4 mile passes and no problems. Good luck getting the EVO's to 20,000 miles. I dont plan on having a 500hp STi, just a little more (current mods GT-SPec header/up-pipe, wastegate mod, B&B downpipe, JIC full titanium cat back, Turbo XS STi UTEC, APS DR 650 FMIC). That is all that will proably go on my car for power gains. For my 500hp car the GN surpasses the task. BTW ALOT of DSM guys have serious problems with their transmissions.
Nick
BTW: EVO's are nice cars, but you just came straight out as an a$$hole so f**k you.

The vast majority of the people posting in this thread are really working overtime to make themselves look as stupid as possible.
The Evo's 5-spd is just as reliable as the 6-spd unit in the STi. Mitsu has some clutch issues from the restrictor plate installed in the Evo. STi's had detonation problems at first. I could continue for both vehicles. Guess what, they both have STRENGTHS and WEAKNESSES. Otherwise, there would be no choice to make. Everyone would buy the obviously superior vehicle. Oh, and stock-for-stock, our tiny turbo will dust you in a straight line too.
Another classic line was the one about the 4G63 being an Eclipse engine. Right, they havent been using 4G63's in the Evolution Rally homologation vehicles since the early '90s or anything, now have they? I think a MORE valid arguement would actually be that Subaru dumped a Forester engine in an Impreza, or something as equally crass as that. For race-proven statement purposes, the chassis is AT LEAST as important as the engine, if not more.
Finally, our tiny turbos and cast internals are under warranty. Open your hood and sneeze while pouring in washer fluid, and Mitsu will void your warranty in a snap. God forbid you drive past an SCCA event with your car. That's the end for certain.
Good luck with your closed mind and best wishes with the Evo; watch out for rust...

for the evo being a little car it is accually 1 in wider and longer then the sti and for the stock turbo being maxed that is far from true the stock turbo has made up to 450 whp in modified magazine on ams evo 8 and most places can run an 11.6 1/4 mile on the stock turbo the sti turbo on the other hand is close to max do to the fact that it is a 2.5 not to metion it has early detenation from that factory you need to run 93 and up octane which in some places is hard to find higher then 91. the wrx was maxed out at around 16 psi as far as efficency. the hadling part it isnt a small differance between the evo and sti the sti handles great the evo handles like its on rails and one who says the differance is small hasnt realy drivin in both cars its a totaly differant feeling.
alot of places are rating the evo internals at 500 whp because the iron block and forged pistion. the sti pistons are cast NOT forged and only 1 to 1 1/2 inches of the deck is closed. and the side wall are very thin. and the reason ppl think the evo is faster in the straits if just because the u feel the tubo hit the STI is faster just realy smooth which is very nice.
All the headers are rusted fast on all 3 if ur worried about the rain coming threw the hood vent on the evo and getting the headers wet take a look under ur subbie u dont think water and salt comes up off the road.
personaly i liked my 02 wrx better then the sti and i like the evo best out of all 3. i like wrx's and STI just for the hp i want its gonna take the 4g63 to get it. unless i got a race block from easy street then i wouldnt even consider it a wrx or sti cause its really just the shell. thats just my 2 cents alot of my friends have wrx if u go to northamerican subaru owner site and search for basic and gaboon u will find pics of stg4 wrx and sti and evo and u will see boons stage 3 blue wrx.

how is that cooming off like an ***? that was my first post on this tread. warranty doesnt bother me i think my new internals already voided that? i posted in another thread if you race its not the manufactures problem to replace parts. you race knowing what could happen to your car if you cant afford the repairs dont race the car.

the best warranty right now would be dodge with the srt-4 they cover their mopar stage kits. niether mitsu or subbie do that.
Stock for stock? my car was only stock for 15 hrs. the fastest 1/4 mile on a stock is now 12.8 whats the time on the sti down to not being a dick i know it was 12.9. not knowing how to drive how come my wrx with all that work held up fine when some people dumped their tranny stock i know i wasnt the only person to have bad syncros.

Ok there only covered if you leave them stock im sorry you guys have to strip downthe mods on your cars so you can get some one else to pay for them people like you make it bad on people who buy cars and have realy problems not cause from mods or racing stop screwing them and get better jobs so you can pay for your own repairs and then the warranty wont bother you like it doesnt me. that goes for any car take responcablity for your own actions.

Even the srt-4 has made 500 whp on stock internals hahahaha
