It didn't get mentioned that the insurance for the evo is usually at least 20% higher. I know to a lot of people that doesn't really matter, but I'm 22 and 20% of a lot of money, is still a lot of money lol. I don't mind having a FMIC, but I'm not going to pay my insurance company every month to have it.

Yes it was started with a simple question. But for some reason after you had already expressed your point of view you just kept on going. just take it easy. Your getting all worked up. Your talking about Fascist beliefs and freedom of speech. Chill-the-*uck- out. This is just a Subaru website where people can come and talk to other subaru people.

i have had an 02 wrx with stage 4 and other goodies on it and sold it for the sti and then traded the STI for an evo.
for the evo being a little car it is accually 1 in wider and longer then the sti and for the stock turbo being maxed that is far from true the stock turbo has made up to 450 whp in modified magazine on ams evo 8 and most places can run an 11.6 1/4 mile on the stock turbo the sti turbo on the other hand is close to max do to the fact that it is a 2.5 not to metion it has early detenation from that factory you need to run 93 and up octane which in some places is hard to find higher then 91. the wrx was maxed out at around 16 psi as far as efficency. the hadling part it isnt a small differance between the evo and sti the sti handles great the evo handles like its on rails and one who says the differance is small hasnt realy drivin in both cars its a totaly differant feeling.
alot of places are rating the evo internals at 500 whp because the iron block and forged pistion. the sti pistons are cast NOT forged and only 1 to 1 1/2 inches of the deck is closed. and the side wall are very thin. and the reason ppl think the evo is faster in the straits if just because the u feel the tubo hit the STI is faster just realy smooth which is very nice.
All the headers are rusted fast on all 3 if ur worried about the rain coming threw the hood vent on the evo and getting the headers wet take a look under ur subbie u dont think water and salt comes up off the road.
personaly i liked my 02 wrx better then the sti and i like the evo best out of all 3. i like wrx's and STI just for the hp i want its gonna take the 4g63 to get it. unless i got a race block from easy street then i wouldnt even consider it a wrx or sti cause its really just the shell. thats just my 2 cents alot of my friends have wrx if u go to northamerican subaru owner site and search for basic and gaboon u will find pics of stg4 wrx and sti and evo and u will see boons stage 3 blue wrx.

^^^ Good write up. That is the best right there. Because you paid for all three cars and drove all thee. So you got the feeling of owning the car not just driving it. I have to contridict you on personal preferance, I like the way the STi rides/drives compared to my 2003 WRX. But that is just opinion.

i put my money on the sti. Technically the STIs are more anvanced than the evo. There are so much stuffs in the innerworks of the Subarus thats so amazing. Next week I'll be attending a week of tech school by Fuji Heavy, mainly about the new Legacy.
If anyone here still undecided, just think of the races that Subaru has won. Lots of the good things on the STI/ WRX derived from the race cars.

Technically the STIs are more anvanced than the evo? if its so advance you would think it could out handle the EVO huh? what makes it more advanced to you? acd or the 6 speed? the evo out handles the sti no matter what u set the acd to and has a higher top speed of 156 to the sti 145 so i dont see were those 2 are helping? the us sti isnt from race not the engine atleast every where else got the real 2.0 sti engine with forged internals us got the highly advanced 2.5 with cast internals.

I didnt know the STi came with acd. It does come with DCCD (driver controlled center differential). There is a difference between speed and technologically advanced. An STi is faster than a Benz CLK, but far less technologically advanced. You obviously own an EVO and are trying to talk smack. Just go away. Why havnt you mentioned anything about the Subaru's straight line performance, making more power with less boost, 6 speed trans, boxter motor, shift light, I/C sprayer, HID's, alluminum suspension pices. Things that set the STi apart from them EVO. A top speed govenor dosnt mean the car cant go any faster, it means that for reasons set by the company (insurance, liability, gov standers) they set the speed where the car cannot acclerate any faster. With getting rid of the govenor the car will go faster. I personally had my speedo read 153mph, I also had RPM's left and the car was pulling before it was cut out. Have you ever hit your cars govenor?

From what I've read, so take it with a grain of salt, the evo makes a better race car while the STI makes for a better daily driver. This is from a NVH point of view. So if you can deal with bruised kidneys, definitely go for the evo. The subaru is, IMHO, of higher quality. Everyone I've talked to who have owned Mitsus have said "never again".

plz read all the post before you write! Talking smack its true. btw i owned an 02 wrx stage 4 pics on nas sold it for an 04 sti then traded the sti on an evo. i had the sti for 3 months the e.d. was terrible lower boost but 25% more displacent or did you forget that? I/C sprayer, HID's,alluminum suspension pices evo has them as well please learn your cars. haha you hit 153 on a car that doesnt go past 145 stock amazing. the evo is electronicly limited to 156 those speed are from car & driver not from your off speedo. hit the govener i a car hahaha i buried well pas the 140 on my wrx after the stage 4.

wow i havent had any problem with my EVO i had E.D. and the forth gear syncro take a dump with the sti.
So if you can deal with bruised kidneys, definitely go for the evo
the evo is a little stiffer then the STI but hardly kindney bruising. if you want a nice ride buy an R32 it a nice ride then the sti or evo but it is also the weakest of the bunch.
