Since when have Mitsu's had stong trannies/drivetrain (minus motor)? The STi has a far more superior tranny.

The insurance from my WRX to my STi is $100 a year more. But I had to go through alot of BS.

^^^ Good write up. That is the best right there. Because you paid for all three cars and drove all thee. So you got the feeling of owning the car not just driving it. I have to contridict you on personal preferance, I like the way the STi rides/drives compared to my 2003 WRX. But that is just opinion.

i put my money on the sti. Technically the STIs are more anvanced than the evo. There are so much stuffs in the innerworks of the Subarus thats so amazing. Next week I'll be attending a week of tech school by Fuji Heavy, mainly about the new Legacy.
If anyone here still undecided, just think of the races that Subaru has won. Lots of the good things on the STI/ WRX derived from the race cars.

I didnt know the STi came with acd. It does come with DCCD (driver controlled center differential). There is a difference between speed and technologically advanced. An STi is faster than a Benz CLK, but far less technologically advanced. You obviously own an EVO and are trying to talk smack. Just go away. Why havnt you mentioned anything about the Subaru's straight line performance, making more power with less boost, 6 speed trans, boxter motor, shift light, I/C sprayer, HID's, alluminum suspension pices. Things that set the STi apart from them EVO. A top speed govenor dosnt mean the car cant go any faster, it means that for reasons set by the company (insurance, liability, gov standers) they set the speed where the car cannot acclerate any faster. With getting rid of the govenor the car will go faster. I personally had my speedo read 153mph, I also had RPM's left and the car was pulling before it was cut out. Have you ever hit your cars govenor?

From what I've read, so take it with a grain of salt, the evo makes a better race car while the STI makes for a better daily driver. This is from a NVH point of view. So if you can deal with bruised kidneys, definitely go for the evo. The subaru is, IMHO, of higher quality. Everyone I've talked to who have owned Mitsus have said "never again".
