I know, I've had it on tap when I visited the brewery. Bottle is still okay though. One of my go-to beers.

Alright here is my top 5 beers in no order you should try (if you haven’t).

-Abita brewing andygator helles doppelbock (it's not a traditional doppelbock it's a mix between a helles bock and a doppelbock but its light in color and super refreshing).
-Black Diamond Peak XV vanilla imperial porter aged in a bourbon barrel.
-Firestone Double Jack DIPA
-Laginutas Daytime session IPA, you would swear it was a regular 6-7 abv
-Black Diamond Rampage DIPA

Lag Daytime is pretty excellent. Another delicious but easy-abv is 21A's Bitter American.

Both killer tailgating/BBQ brews.

Has anyone in San Jose tried ISO Beers? OG is my spot, but I haven't gone downtown in a while.

If you are an IPA fan... must try

Ballast Point's Sculpin

Updated and always changing:

1) Ballast Point - Sculpin
2) Ulinta - Hop Notch (not popular unfortunately, taken off the shelves at the Mowry Bevmo)
3) Heretic - Evil Cousin
4) 21st Amendment - Brew Free! Or Die IPA
5) ... Haven't decided (Bear Republic - IPA maybe)

FYI Mowry's Bevmo has the Drake's Denog in the fridge... and Drake's is in San Leandro incase anyone wants to hit the local Brewery.

Gonna have to bring a 6-pack or case of 21st Amendment - Bitter American

Although no IPA yet, but did recently make a Pilsner... I'll add in a plug between 5-8pm weekdays and 12-8pm weekends for

Das Brew off of Fremont's Automall and Grimmer.

Closest brewery to me. Friday's they try to have food on sale in the parking lot.

Sculpin is indeed amazing. As I say, "I'd rather be gulpin' a Sculpin" - I was going to try to get a shirt made, but never did. I did a Pepsi-Challenge with friends and family between Sculpin and Pliny and everyone preferred Sculpin hands down.

Another great one to try that I have been seeing around again is Avery Brewing Co's Maharaja IPA. It's actually an Imperial IPA. Extremely drinkable and well balanced. Ale Arsenal has it on tap right now.

Heady Topper, from The Alchemist
American Double IPA

I'm not an IPA fan and I love this beer, and it's been #1 in the world apparently according to Beer Advocate.

It's impossible to get it out here unless you have it shipped from the east coast, but it's worth a try if you ever get the chance.

Heres some of the beers I tried at a bottle share a couple weeks ago. Good times. Anyone down for an i-club bottle share or brewery meet up?

Recently had Deschutes's Hop Henge IPA (seasonal, might be all off the shelves already) Pretty good, probably makes my top 5

Golden Road's Wolf Among Weeds - If you want the bitterness IPA kick,
Golden Road also makes other IPAs, I've had their 2020 and it's ok, nothing impressive.

Tried Rogue Ales's Brutal IPA, wouldn't get it again.

If you are into trying new things, and Bevmo is out of it (I feel like Mowry's Bevmo is always out of new/local stuff), hit up Cork & Bottle across Bevmo. Bigger selection it seems. It also has beer on tap in the back. It's in the area where Denny's & Bank of the West are.

1) Ballast Point - Sculpin
2) Ulinta - Hop Notch
3) Deschutes - Hop Henge
4) Heretic - Evil Cousin

Some other recommendations:
21st Amendment - Brew Free! Or Die IPA
Bear Republic - Racer5 IPA
Port Brewing - Wipeout
Ninkasi - Tricerahops
