Without the EVO theres not much of a buisness argument to be made for keeping an STI which many heads at Subaru have been trying to drop for years.

Just like when Mitsu pulled out of WRC, Subaru pulled out a year later

It does kind of make me want to get an EVO X now, its nice having the last model of something great, it will never be obsolete.

Like I said, sounds like 1998. Remember the glut of Z32 300ZX's, JZA80 Supra's, and FD3S's roaming the streets that glorious year before they were all totaled by 1999?

Miata or the MX model is starting to become the cockroach of sporty cars. It won't go away but this is a good thing.

Mitsu was there too - 99 being the last year of a turbocharged eclipse.

I can get a brand new EVO X 2011 with no options (Minus fogs, spoiler, and SSS package, those come with it) in WHITE for around $31.5. If I can sell my STi and put down 5k I could practically have the EVO in full.

Hmmmmm... What to sell for 5k... Anyone want to marry a hot mail order bride?

Yeah, that's true... They offered me 0% financing which is awesome. They REALLY want to get rid of their fleet, so right now is the right time to buy.

I love my STi but I just want something different. I'll probably go back, but for now the EVO is in my best interest. I wish I could keep my STi and have the EVO but my wife wants a Mini Cooper so I can't have both *Cry*

its not like Mitsubishi motors only survives because of the Lancer Evolution.

Mitsubishi is being smart and evolving with the car market.

When Subaru starts to release their info about their hybrid tech, you'll prolly scream for blood.

unfortunately performance cars just arent big money makers for car companies. The sales numbers for STIs and EVOs are in the 3000 a year range, Toyota and Honda sell that many Camrys and Accords EVERY WEEKEND!

And on top of that, cars like the EVO and STI have a smaller profit margin than family cars, especially when you figure in more expensive and more common warranty claims. If anyone remembers back before Mitsu brought the EVO to America, one of its reasons for not was Americans file much more frequent and more expensive warranty claims than Japan or Europe. Those are just the facts, performance cars like these turn into loss-leaders for car companies selling in America, they usually keep them around as "Halo Cars" just to generate interest for the whole line up, but theyr'e also the first ones to go.
