I bought one of these because the law was creeping up http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ers/DEH-P790BT I love it, came with the ipod wire as well. I can be jamming to some tunes, it rings and auto answers, and I talk. When the other person hangs up it switches back to the ipod and I continue my rocking. It's nice not having to fuss with anything.

As far as people still using them, it makes me irate. I saw a blonde chic in a bug this morning gabbing away holding the phone about 2"s from her head as if it not touching her head made it better. I shook my head at her and she gave me the finger. Being the polite person I am, I rolled down all 4 windows and let the 1200w pump through the 2 solobaric 12"s She got off the phone about 5 seconds later and gave me the finger again ROFL

Thats what i do. i got my subs. 1200watts. when someone is being obnoxious on the phone i just roll down all 4 and let it hit to the point of not being able to breathe.

most people cant hear thier phones after that so they either switch lanes or get off.

I got pulled over for "noise pollution" about 7 months ago. and i told the officer exactly why i had them so loud cuz of the douche bag talking on the phone not paying attention so i needed a way to get him off the phone.

he had a small chuckle and told me to keep the sound to a courteous level and left. didnt even run my DL. see chp does have a sense of humor.

Definitely.

Anyone who has ridden a motorcycle on the street ever, are far more respectful of human life on the road.

I admit that I sometimes forget my bluetooth set and use the speaker-phone function. Only problem is sometimes it is not loud enough to hear unless I hold it close-ish to my head.

So I probably look like that chick that was spoken about above.

oops

im sure someone has already said this, but i think of it like speeding. people still speed, but that's what for radar detectors are for. i guarantee there are people that found out about this law back when it was a huge deal, and didn't hesitate to buy a valentine 1 or a passport instead of a bluetooth setup.

Sadly it seems like another law people know they can break was not the answer here. One of those articles mentioned that "a recent report indicated that having two hands on the wheel can be a big safety improvement when driving in bad weather or on congested roads."

The fact that a study was needed to determine this is sad enough, but there are a few posts in this thread that explain why we need it I guess. WOW.

I was in Irvine all last week and saw much less people talking on the cell phone holding it by hand. I guess breaking the law is a Bay Area thing.

Umm... psychologically it doesn't really matter if you have both hands free... Just being in a heated conversation or emotional conversation PERIOD, even with a bluetooth is just as distracting as having your hand on the phone. (this study has been proven) and was taught in my Cognitive behavior class.
