Hands Free phone law is useless
Hands Free phone law is useless. I see so many people holding the phones and talking on them as if the law does not exist. What is up with that? I have to say that most of the ones I see doing it are women in SUVs.
Any comments? Am I the one noticing this?

ya i have been stuck in the san rafael hell traffic and there are people all over the place talking while holding it. hell 3 chp went right by us and they didnt even look at her.
its just another way for them to give you a hard time.
a buddy of mine got pulled over cuz the cop thought he was talking on his phone. (he didnt even have his phone on him he left it at home and thats what we were going to get.
they asked for his DL were looking all over the car didnt even run his DL gave it back and informed him of the hands free law before letting us go.
bunch of bull****

Cops can, and should be able to do whatever they want.
I think the law is BS because driving an automatic vehicle, you always have a free hand, so you should be able to hold your phone. Manual transmission vehicles are dangerous. We've all done the one handed steering shuffle, instead of turning the wheel gradually, you go straight, switch phone to other hand, knee steering wheel, shift, and do a sharp 90...or 2 45's haha.
and on the freeway just cruising you should be able to talk on your phone, manual or auto, youre in top gear and have an extra hand.
the law wasnt made to get people to stop holding their phone, it was made to make extra money. Everyone knows that about almost all laws.
Speeding? yep we all did it today at least 1 mph over.
what i see are a lot more TXTRS!!! which IS dangerous!

Well people break the rules all the time. We as a subaru community do it all the time, loud *** exhausts, street illegal mods, speeding, etc. This is no different. To me its no big deal. Like all rules - people will break them and until they are caught, will continually break them.

Heyell yeah, theyre the ones coming within 6 inches of your car on the freeway since they pay no attention in the first place, they have no right to get mad at you for slowing in front of them. yet they still wave their hands in the air lol
even better yet, slow lane or fast lane, they get fed up with you, so they choose a different lane or try to pass, thats when you mash on the gas and get ahead of them, so they go back to their initial lane...then a mile later let them ctach up and do it allllllll over again haha.

I see more cops on cell phones now then anything else. Another thing, you can't talk on the phone while driving unless using hands free of course but you're allowed to text!?
