we're on very good terms with the local PD. They hang out here once in a while looking for speeders but they never bother us

A good customer just picked up his 2010 STI after a full build. We built and installed an EQ Stage 2 block, ATP GTX3071 turbo, Process West TMIC, EQ 1000cc Injectors, and various other bits and pieces. The car is on the schedule for a tune in 2 weeks. In the meantime, here are a couple pics of this purrrrty STI:

Thanks

Hey Ed,
Don't forget to hold onto my stock crosspipe and I upgraded my AP so it seems like no more disconnect. There's a retune in my future, talk to you soon.

now that you *******s thought"haha he blew his motor" you would be wrong.
couple years ago when i was driving the wife to SF for medical stuff,i NAILED a chunk of concrete, which put a dent in my wheel. being that they were ADVANS,i wasnt to worried. about 6 weeks ago i had new tires installed and they OK'd the wheel for use. well,it wasnt.
wheel failed. a chunk the size of my fist broke off, while i was making a left hand turn at about 45mph. end result, car is at the body shop. nothing to major, all body with zero frame or suspension damage.
its getting new bumpers,trunk,door skins,hood,headlight and 4 new wheels/tires.
this is all if the total doesnt reach 14k.
so,once i get it back its either going up forsale or trading it in. stepping up to a new platform.

Hey Ed,
So I think I'm ready to get my custom tune for the 04 WRX. Just got the car ready with new fuel filter, new copper NGK plugs, K&N filter and oil change.
Mods:
-Turbo XS flex Upipe, thermally coated & EGT bung welded
-Silicone Y-Pipe
-Prodrive Axleback
-K&N Dropin Filter and ghetto fabulous airbox tabslot fix haha
-A few irrelevant suspension goodies
BTW, changing out to the K&N filter and copper plugs (platinum plugs were a tad old but looked perfect and still perfect gap after 60k), the car has a noticeable change in low-end torque and overall smoothness.
So now my question, I still feel slightly nervous about swapping out the downpipe for smog reasons (I had a smog shop question me about a battery monitor in the engine bay!) so if you could recommend one more thing I could do before the tune what would it be? With the birth of my daughter 2 years ago I've been sort of out of the Subaru world a bit so I haven't followed the latest tuning trends. I was thinking a grimspeed 3-port electronic BCS? I know you've traditionally been a manual boost control fan but I don't know if anything has changed in that regard. Thoughts?
I'm basically after a strong reliable custom tune that further refines the characteristics I love about the car. If I could smooth things out, that would be a plus too.
