that article was very racist also "driving while asian" im caucasian but i have plenty of asian friends and i thinks its wrong to stereotype racers and modifiers like that. all races take pride in the car they drive and modifying is mostly personalization.
i do admit that alot of people have exhaust that is way too loud but hey what about all the harley guys why can they have there bikes with no muffler at all and we get all the tickets someone needs to rethink all these damn laws if its goes for one group it goes for all groups.

it is never going to happen that 100% of laws are going to make sense, and that everyone is happy with everything lawenforcement does. this is an obsticle for modifiers and racers, it just means we'll have to be smarter and find ways around it

, once they tasted all that extra revenue from DWA drivers it was bound to spread everywhere.
Most people I know with domestic firebirds, camaros, mustangs etc etc mod the living crap out of thier car... but chp dedicates 7 pages to asians driving modded cars?
what a lame *** double standard...

Ya know I can't believe I am going to say this but the ACLU may actually come in handy here. Senario; ok now most of the people of that CHP local enforcment are going to target are going to be Asian plain and simple. Most people that do these things to thier cars are Asian. Once it starts to happen file a suit against the state of CA for discrimination. In all actuality with the right brains behind it. A petition could be filed in favor of laws for louder exhaust, tinted windows, gauges ect. The import community is large enough to make it happen. Why do you think motorcycles have no restrictions. It's called lobbying. WHen you can't work with the law make the law work for you.

Oh, well the thing is - the V1 is a device that is specifically designed to detect radar so if a cop doesn't have his on, then it probably won't help in those situations.

yeah, thats what I was saying, and I doubt these guys are going to be having radars, so a V1 isnt going to protect you from them. and even if you do have a V1, and they have a radar gun, and turn it on, they are still going to pull you over if you slow down, or turn off the street. I'm sure the san diego police thought through every idea we will come up with

Excellent work citizen, well just keep following those laws and you'll do fine! Save $400 by not buying a V1. Haaa... Wow.

Do you guys think it's possible that helping to crack down on organized street racing could help the situation? The cops aren't after the guys who end up next to another sports car at a random stoplight and race at thre green. They want to prevent the organized underground events where people are drag racing for money. Cracking down on modified cars is a great way to discourage modding and racing. But if insiders took the cops deep into the organized street racing world... Do you think it would make things worse or better?

How about an organization for tuners against illegal street racing. Plates, stickers, id cards. Something to help us show the guy that pulls us over that we support the fight against street racing. might get one or two of us out of a state ref citation.
