This is the most important part of the Dream Act that answers your question:

After this six year period, those who meet at least one of these three conditions would be eligible to apply for permanent resident status. During this six year conditional period, they would not be eligible for federal higher education grants such as Pell grants but they would be able to apply for student loans and work study.[15]

If they have met all of the conditions at the end of the 6-year conditional period, they would be granted permanent residency, which would eventually allow them to become U.S. citizens.

this: to clarify, contribute nothing to cover their cost to the state - but hey, the "government" doesn't give a **** and we don't hold them responsible for it - Obama should be impeached

SAY WHAT? I didn't know that was part of the deal! I thought it was mandatory for them to enlist in the military for that to happen.

EXACTLY! Like I said earlier, efforts would be better spent improving the scrutiny of hands out to people already in the states. Not adding more motive to sneak over here.

that's another issue that I would argue is a problem, but it applies to those who are citizens here

illegals who ***** about what AMERICA offers to AMERICANS can go back and complain to whatever country that they or their family LEFT to come to AMERICA - otherwise, they have no say HERE

but hey, this is apparently what the "government" wants - more people need to read "The Bilderberg Group"

They don't qualify for Pell grants, which are solely need-based (low income grant). They do qualify for Cal Grants, which are both need and grade-based. So it's not like they're just getting free money; it is performance based.

Still, it comes out of the same fund that legal student Cal Grants come from with no increase in funding. In fact, Cal Grants are undergoing major cuts.

I'm fine with the Military option. If they serve our country for a normal enlistment time or more then absolutely let them in. They show motivation and dedication. THEN pay for their college. No free rides.

Oh well, why cry over spilled milk...
I got a solution tho, instead of people crying about how they cant pay for school and s**t, just sell your smartphones, iPads, 10k In car mods, nikes, and pay for your education...
