I would like to say something on behalf of my friend here. Lack of grammar and other unrelated items aside the truth of the matter is that he liked Shiv's tune better than Mike's and I can see why he would have such a preference as I've driven his car with both tunes; around the mountains and spirited driving in general. With Mike's tuning the car seems to have great peak horsepower but is lacking boost response and useable torque in the midrange (between 3-5.5k). Top-end power is great but unuseable for our purpose of hard-core mountain driving. It was definitely a learning experience driving up the mountains with this kind of tune and was fun in it's own way. With Shiv's tuning the car definitely was a different monster with torque surging between 3k to 5.5k with a little improvement in top-end, but unnoticeable as the midrange torque was the most prominent. Up in the mountains it was definitely easier to drive as we don't have to rev high to feel the surging torque. The boost is also very responsive and builds up very quickly. In other words we believe this car was tuned great for a mountain car and a great street car in general.
It is unfortunate that my friend chose not to disclose his mod list and dyno sheet on this thread for the "non-believers" and "english teachers" out there and neither can I disclose it as well, but if you speculate that the WHP numbers are not too impressive on Shiv's tuning then you are right. They are standard WHP numbers for the setup he has but the torque curve and driveability is definitely a difference of night and day.
It is apparent that we definitely have a passion for our cars whether it's for show, sprited driving, all out horsepower, 1/4 mile times, road race, autocross, rally, the list goes on. In our case we show that passion by driving our cars spiritedly through the mountains without hesitation and sharing information and giving feedback regarding our runs. Others seem to show their passion by giving english lessons and jumping to conclusions without asking for further information to be considered. Well, to each his own I guess.
We do our mountain runs every weekend and we'd like to invite you to join us. If you guys are down for a weekend run every weekend we can definitely set it up on this forum. It's definitely more fun than talking **** and reading **** on these boards. If not then flame away at your discretion.

This is pretty funny, at least you tired to have a point and back your friend. All I drive is twisty mountian roads and canyons because that's where I live. Mike's tune is wonderful for this as boost comes on sooner, torque is way higer and has a wider usuable range then stock. My car actually shows off it's capabilities in the curvey roads and not on the drag strip as you would assume.
It'd funny how two different stories are told here, on by the tuner saying he was asking for more hp, and one by the owner saying he was asking for more power, yet you come here and back my assumptions that the shiv tune netted the same if not less but made more useable hp in the range he wanted. Do you really know what you are talking about here in regards to useable hp or trying to explain through your fingers what you butt is feeling?
All in all this made for some great entertainment. Glad you friend that can't communicate is happy with his car. Now to see how long the egine lasts on this tune, but that's another story with WAY to much info and links.

Klen, you seem to have done something your friend could not; compile a coherent paragraph. Yet, you can't base your argument on an opinion; everyone just wants to see some facts to back up your statements. I don’t think anyone thinks you are lying when you say the car feels different. You just can’t base an entire argument on an opinion with no factual backing.
Its like saying a car is green because it feels green; all we want is to see a picture of a green car.

between shiv and mike, I'd go with mike since he's obviously looking out for the car more than for his bank account.
I'm happy with who tuned my car
