Exclamation HELP FROM PROTUNE 06 wrx stage 2

MIKE from Gruppe-s did not recommend me to get a protune because of my minimal mods!! he said there barely any power gain after tune on 06 wrx?!?

why would he say this after i see others GOT PROTUNE FOR THIS TYPES OF MODS and got about 15-20hp gain and torque. pls help.

my mods are: 06 wrx
cobb ap (stage 2)
invidia catted downpipe
hi-power catback
silencer delete

Upgrade the turbo(TD06H-18G or similar), a GM BCS, pickup a Crucial P&P&C'd manifold & then go get a Protune.

Look at it this way, Mike turned down money from you to do a Protune because he could not justify the power-to-cost ratio. Other tuners must justify why you need a Protune so they may end up pushing the car much harder to get results to justify the cost. IMHO, Mike did you a favor.

Also in CA you're running **** for gas, where other tuners across the country are running much much better gas which will allow for a more aggressive tune.

Based on numerous friends' experiences. It seems that majority of the power generated from his tuning is mostly top-end power with marginal gains in midrange torque and driveability, if any. As I have driven their cars it doesn't seem impressive. They had their cars tuned by Shiv afterwards and that I must say is a huge improvement compared to Mike's tuning. The torque and midrange is noticeable with considerable gains in top-end power as well. But unfortunately the cost is considerably higher (worth the $$ in my opinion though). And with the mods listed in the initial posts there should be considerable gains with that setup.

Then again it's just one person's complaint against another person's praise.
