Anyone Out There Play With Toluene?

I also DID get some on my skin when pouring it, and it dried up my hands instantly. I WILL wear gloves next time.
I took about 10 miles to actually feel results, but the car seems to be a little more peppy off the start. And cruising anywhere above 45mph or more, the car just purr's. It's liking this higher octane rating.

and you could tell a big difference from 1.4 octane points?

What are safe levels to mix at? It would make everything so much easier to people that don't deal with mixing fuels everyday. Sorry about all the XXXXXX's
If you have 3 gal of 114 toulene and 12 gal of 91 you'd do it like this:
((3/15)*114) + ((12/15)*91) = 95.6 octane
% of 114 + % of 91 = total octane
Make sense? You can do it too

more generally:
V = size of gas tank (volume)
N = Octane of booster
M = Octane of gasoline
a = gallons of booster
b = gallons of gasoline
((a/V)*N)+((b/V)*M) = mixed octane
Note: For all of you math whizzes out there, the added parens are for clarity.

I mostly used toluene to give me a buffer between detonating and not. I needed this buffer since I was doing all of my tuning up to a point with my UTEC. Then I went to EcuTek and never really thought about using toluene because it was tuned properly by Bill. But I no longer roll out in a WRX and I run stock boost in my current car so I have no need for toluene at this point.

Wait guys...
if MPJ can get it for $2/gallon, they should totally stockpile it, cause at that price we might as well fill up the maximum amount of it everytime we need gas, cause it's cheaper than gas!

yeah, the problem with this stuff is its carcinogenic and dangerous to your health and well yea, to me, its better just to have a well tuned 91 map. i used to blend 91/100 for 94. in hindsight, it wasn't worth the trouble let alone the money.
once the stuff's burnt the stuff doesn't do anything for ya except cause health issues later on and thin your wallet as quickly as it thins paint... :X
whatever floats your respective boats, just a perspective.

Yeah, I did this a couple of times... 91+ a couple of gallons of 100 octane was better. Seemed a LOT smoother and pulled better. I don't care anymore. I look for the cheapest 91 I can find that isn't water or sand and go with that. I am running out of money...
