Anyone Out There Play With Toluene?
5 gallons for $40
$8 a gallon compared to around $4-5 gallon for 100 octane.
need 3 gallons of 100 octane vs 1.5 gallons of toluene to equal around 93 octane. same price? there must be cheaper toluene.
they should just sell 2-3 gallong jugs of it w/ a spout to directly pour into the gas tank. someone could make a fortune!

The problem is the legality of partaking in a business like that Pio!Pio!
The government would **** purple twinkies if you tried to sell paint thinner as automobile fuel!

i went over to sherwin williams to get the toluene too, $40, and i also asked them if they sell gallons to xylene, they said the do, and then i don't know if i heard wrong, but they said $4.95 gallon. so i figured wouldn't be better to get xylene instead of toulene since xylene is rated 117 and toulene is 114??? xylene and toulene is interchangeable too from what i know
I own an ace hardware in MD, we stock Tuolene and xylene(117) along with buffers like marvel's mystery oil. email me if you would like to purchase some: sharkology@hotmail.com
xylene is $12/gallon plus shipping

Can you please merge this thread and the one I have linked together, since they are both pertaining to toluene and xylene?

Toluene as a charcinogen.
Where I work this is listed as a Carcinogen (class: Mutagen). So I went to the manufactureres website and they don't list it as a carcinogen and OSHA doesn't list it as a cacinogen.
The manufacturer does list it in the same class as Benzene, which is a carcingen.
I don't know where my company got the listing for Toluene as a carcinogen, but I can't find any documentation on this anywhere. I appologize if my lack of research has dissuaded anyone from trying Toulene.
IARC (international agency for research on cancer):
Group 3 carcinogen = not a human carcinogen
This means it is just corrosive (ie breathing and skin danger).
Good Luck.

I'm new to adding Toluene, could someone create a chart with how much percentages of each product and also the final octane rating? IE. If I add XX% of Toluent to XX% of 91 octane gas I NEED to add XX amount of ATF and I get X amount of 9_ octane. The same for other gas octanes and other percentages of added Toluene. What are safe levels to mix at? It would make everything so much easier to people that don't deal with mixing fuels everyday. Sorry about all the XXXXXX's
