Might sound absolutely overboard, but lets not kid ourselves. Everyone wants to be nice and just move on right along. Dumb.
i used to have this outlook in my younger days, and would always get hassled by cops, and i never understood why . one day, i knew i made a traffic mistake and just didnt want to deal with the a-hole cop, so i just decided to admit what i did wrong and be cool with the cop... he let me go!! hmm, i thought, if i did this on a normal basis (ie. be a normal reasonable human), i might be able to get out of tickets. to this day, i've treated cops like how i would like to be treated, and guess what, they are normal people too! i couldn't believe it. you also realize that there are good ones and bad ones, and that theres not much you can do other than be good yourself. i dont know what else to say to you guys who dont know how to deal with LEO's. it's really not that difficult. swallow your pride and pretend its just someone else on the street. if they F with you (a bad cop), let the law work for you.

i skipped the rest of the thread, because its all repetitive bs from the past couple weeks.. i just quoted this because i believe its true, just dont act like a dumb ***, you'll more than likely get a warning, i've only gotten ticketed maybe 1 out of every 5 times i got pulled over

OP stop complaining. You haven't had to deal with this **** for years. I've been pulled over by them at least 7 times for aboslutely ABOSLUTELY no reason. One of those times my whole car was searched and I was handcuffed after saying they weren't allowed to search my car. Then they let me go. To make this more insulting they pulled me over before my house as to not let me go. Lafayette cops= They DO NOT follow the laws at all. I can only imagine their police chief is one of those **** busy bodies.

For a while they use to have a game of popping medians all night long just to intimidate random drivers.

Lafayette cops=corrupt as ****.

I promise you if I had carried a video camera everyday in my car for those past years, i'd be a millionare from suing the city, and i'm not kidding.

THe awesome part about this is you can go find any other random people under 30 in the area, and they will give you very similar stories.

I saw you call the guys chief or whatever, and tell him his cop lied under oath. ANd regardless of the punishment you hope he will do something before the guy breaks the law again.

I say we need to make this **** into a news story or case? bring down these guys. Im sick of their little kiddie games.

They make cops look bad everywhere.

IF you are a cop or related don't be offended. These guys really are pieces of ****.

I recieved a ticket for speeding, at a stop sign at that, and when i went to court for my appearance, they said if I wanted to set up a court date, I would have to go to the clerk, after my first hearing and file for an appointment in court. I asked the judge, isnt this my court date, he got mad and said immediatly, fine is $$$$$$$, have a good day, next.

I've been convicted when the evidence showed:

The cop had not verified his equipment

The radar unit was out of calibration when my ticket was issued

The cop was late to the court hearing.

If you had to wait for 45minutes and found not guilty, maybe you shouldn't have been there in the first place? Time is money, and the court/officer is sure as hell not going to the half day/time off work.

And that's whether it takes 'em 15 minutes or 5 hrs of court time.
