cops were good people to know when I was younger. a lot of my friends were getting in minor trouble with the law constantly. befriended some cops in the almaden valley area at the time. i was always getting let off of tickets. even did 100+ on almaden expressway and got a warning (not from someone I knew...gift of gab I suppose)

On one of the Mt. Hammy meets, I got pulled over at the base of the mountain where everyone was turning right to go up. Cop asked me what the hell 500 "race cars were going up to drag race all at once for" I explained that you don't drag race when there are multiple low speed turns involved and that we were just going to a bbq. I invited him to come. He said nope he just wanted to see what was going on. I assured him everyone was there to be safe and just have fun at the park. He let me go and I went back on my way...now delayed by another 20 minutes due to all you guys paying the entry fee too slow!! and then later...someone crashed LOL. He could have very well sited all several hundred of us who weren't stock for breaking smog laws but he didn't

anyways, point is, not ALL cops are douches.

edit: it's just that people always remember the worst.

Point being most of them obviously just want to generate revenue these days and don't really care if they serve any actual public interest.
I'm kind of unclear about how you came to that conclusion of "most" after describing the actions of a single individual.

The justice system is a joke.

Example: Capital Murder vs Murder ?

****, someone died unplanned in some cases, and when someone in blue goes down the other guy is automatically on the death penalty. Court systems aren't fair, when they're supposed to be. You are guilty until proven innocent. There are tons of wrongs and everything has to get revamped cuz a lot of folks are just following into the same dump and just assuming things cuz it's what everyone else assumes.

Sucks for the ticket. ****in cop was late but they wait, when you are late you are guilty? Dumb.

Couldnt be more wrong.

Cop killers dont get sentenced to death as often as you may think. Remember, they are tried by a jury that also hate the police.

As I got older I started understanding why there were cops around. I don't hate them nowadays because I do understand what they have to deal with. Not all cops are bad. Yes there are some who go on power trips but who really cares? Just learn to let it go. In life, you will meet those types of people.. You determine your mood and how you will go about life, not them. Trust me.. most cops are just doing their jobs and they won't even think twice about you, whereas, you will go on and on about how they wronged you.. Not only are you unhappy and pissed off but you're letting them get to you..

I've had run in with cops but I never got a ticket. Why? Because I was nice and respectful to them as I am to everyone else. I don't want to make their jobs any more difficult for them (put yourself in their shoes; how would you feel if you had to deal with some moody *ss person who hates you before they even got the chance to meet you).. because that is what it is.. a job.

What I find admirable about that career is the fact that many cops do care about people, otherwise they wouldn't be officers. Who wants to get shot at anyway? I sure don't. But they are the ones who would be willing to take a bullet for you.

There are some cops who, yes, unfortunately, go overboard and start profiling. I know it sucks to get profiled because of the car you drive but like some have said.. they have nothing better to do at times. Most cops know you have something illegal in your car and some will state ref you.. BUT some wouldn't.. I've met many many police officers growing up.. and to be honest.. if the world decided to not be so close-minded, they would actually realize how much some officers do care about their safety.

For example, when my dad was abusive to my mom, officers came. At the time I HATED cops because I didn't understand why they were taking my dad away.. but now I understand they took him away because he was a danger to my mom as well as myself.

Until you are able to see more than just the black and white, only then will you truly understand. Cops don't do things for NO reason.. Majority of the time there is a reason. If the officer decides to be a jerk, then call that guy hiding behind that uniform a jerk. Why call every other officer a jerk? It's like saying.. "I don't like this guy/girl because he's wearing red. I don't care who he is, whether s/he is a nice guy/girl, as long as s/he's wearing red, I hate them." This is the close-minded cr*p I'm talking about..

Most officers are very nice and they are just doing their jobs... Don't hate them for it. If you know you broke the law, then just take responsibility for your own actions. You're all old enough to know better. As much as I hate getting pulled over for dumb things, I know they had a good reason for doing so.. As far as the officer who decides to be a jerk.. hate the jerk for all I care.. he deserves to be disliked for having such a negative attitude.. but that does not mean that all officers are douche bags.

Trust me.. I know some people who always go off complaining about how they got state reffed for this and that and hate the officer.. Technically you are breaking the law and you're just upset you got caught.. You ran the risk of getting caught in the first place and you knew everything was illegal, so why get mad? If the officer was rude and whatnot, then get his badge number, file a complaint and call it a day. Life's too short to b#&ch and complain about who did this and that.

But I also keep in mind the fact that some officers DO profile because of the car you drive.. that in itself sucks a lot but majority of the things they get us for is technically illegal. My big thing is when they start calling us "street racers" and accuse us of "illegally street racing" when they did not catch us in the act of committing such crimes. That is when I will hit them with the big "police profiling against people who drive modified cars."

All in all.. I just wanted to make the point that.. if you're too close-minded to reality, then that will be your downfall.. People are afraid and hate what they don't understand.

That is all.
I'm pretty open minded. You take the good things vs the bad things in many situations, and try to reason with them from your past knowledge of the rights and wrongs.

Some cops are right, some are wrong. Alike with how the news is and media, it's just easier to remember something when someone wrongs you or has done wrong. So some of these posts are supposed to be hateful some are supposed to be cheerful. This is a forum to discuss those wrongs or rights. The bottom line that is that not every man is created equal. If a cop feels like busting someone for driving a sporty car, that's not fair. Nor is getting a ticket if you're late vs waiting for an excuse from an officer being late.

Until there is a fair ground I think the guys in blue will have an advantage over the system. It's screwed up until America learns to go back to the constitution and promote the constitution.

The idea is the word Capital. Murder is murder. A human is human. But now one wears a badge and we're at a whole different ball game. This isn't equality, this is another separate but equal without it being so blunt.

wrong again.

i see where your trying to go, but reality is different than what is on paper.

ive seen guys shoot cops and get locked up for a year.

ive seen guys shoot AT other people and get locked up for life.

Reality is, people who kill civilians are way more likely to spend life, than a cop killer.

i honestly love most cops. i mean really guys, without them we couldnt sleep sound at night. if we had 0 cops in the country, there would be firearms going off everywhere from people murdering and stealing.

thanks to cops, we dont have to worry about that. sure there are those really mean cops, but in a system, there are always flaws. kinda like the squeaks in our wonderful subarus. its still a great car. the executive branch is still a great system.

to the OP and those who had cases where the cop was late...

ask the judge to throw out the case due to you are being violated of your sixth amendment rights. a speedy trial...

remember, a judge doesnt know you from adam. but they probably dealt with the cop that ticketed you. and guess what, they will probably take the cops' side in this case.

that's why you need to brush up on some high school civic classes...

learn your bill of rights.

quiz: without googling, how many rights are granted to you by the FIRST amendment... bonus points if you can list them...
