Why not fight to remove marriage from legal standing?

Why must is be that same sex are the ones to get "unions"... It's should be EQUAL. So if marriage is to remain something religious, they take it out of the legal stand point and replace it with Unions, for both gay and hetero couples.

I'm not arguing that homosexuals should or should not have the "right" to get married.

I am arguing that since marriage is not a right, the government, and by extension the people, have a right to limit who can and can not get married.

I have mentioned polygamy several times since there are laws in place that prohibit polygamous marriages.

If one type of marriage is allowed, then all types of marriages must be allowed.
Is this something you really want?
Marriage is a right. It is the right to spend the rest of your life with the person you love and to welcome them, legally, into your family.

On the other hand...

What if one is too short to ride the fastest roller coasted in the world. **** second place he wants to ride the biggest and baddest of them all! But he'll will be damned because Mom was a dwarf. Now he'll never be able to have to share what others have. Should we accommodate him? Is is his right for us to bow to his wants and build a new coaster even if he was born with it? I don't think so.
Roller coaster is an amusement ride

Marriage has become a legal deal in the US and in CA...

So you are comaring an issue of sexual orientation to an issue of safety? Is that what I am to understand based on this comment? But yes, if the dwarf, regardless of all of the warnings from those who know better, still would like to take his life in his hands and ride the biggest and baddest roller coaster ever he should be allowed to.

If it doesn't, it should.

It still won't be recognized Federally. The only difference will be that same-sex couples aren't 'married'. Prop 8 is stupid and a waste of time and money.

That is incorrect. We also do not discriminate against gays who wish to buy a home.

Please show us where in the Civil Code, you have a right to own a house.

Discrimination, in any form, is abhorrent.
