You're all out of your element Psoper, A 04 Guize, and Seek_knowledge. You want to have a reasonable argument then you need to be willing to abandon your partisan post for two seconds. What psoper and seek_knowlegde forget is that Clinton nor Bush Sr (or any President in the 20th century) had ever dealt with a problem this major. Therefore, their comparison is irrelevant and just another way to belittle Bush.

Yes, the federal government screwed the pooch on reaction time. Some say it was because of red tape and logistics that have never been dealt with. Doesn't matter. All I know is that **** on the federal level needs to change ****ing yesterday before another tragedy strikes America. Period. Likewise, the local and state governments really let down their people. The evidence on that is in black and white (see other threads here). I’d even go so far to say that they are responsible for the tragedy but the feds are equally responsible for not picking-up the slack as fast as they should have.

If you want to have a reasonable discussion without waiving your parties flag then I suggest seeking light in another thread. Seems that Katrina is one topic everyone has come to a consensus on in this forum. Leave it to a re-direct from another I-club forum to actually have people coming here with their measly .02.
