That's because even he was amazed. I'm not in the least bit racist but why is it that during a mandatory evacuation almost all the light skin type followed instructions and left while the majority of the black population stayed? As bad as it may be they can thank only themselves for their situation. Buses were leaving the city free of charge to Houston, Jackson and Atlanta. No excuse.

Honestly, does it even make a difference. He obviously wasn't going to come down and chill with Mayor Nagin in the eye of the hurricane and he can give instruction just as easily from a ranch as he can the White House. A phone call is a phone call. Unless you expected him to come down and fill sand bags it wouldn't have made two ****s difference where he was.

 

Bush declared a major disater even before the hurricane hit.

i'm not a big fan of bush... but bush has alot on his plate... and besides, the people running the state should be the ones doing most of the stuff, not bush. on top of that most of the people running that state is black, and guess what... they where like the first people out of the state when sh*t hit the fan

 

He had been on vacation and even so he still provided direction. I don't understand why people are so caught up on the vacation thing. He wasn't going to go down there and actually get his hands dirty regardless. Would it have made a difference if he were sitting intently in the Oval Office waiting for the hurricane to make landfall? No, he'd have answer a phone call from Governor Blanco all the same.
