Steering wheel clunk

Ok guys I posted this concern in another subaru club forum and didn't get much response so here it goes. Last week I slid sideways into a curb at about 40km/hr and took a nice chunk out of the lip on my front right rim and threw my alignment right out of wack. The dealer replaced my rim and said "my car aligned just within specs so I may have also damaged the hub". Now I have noticed when making a left hand turn at very slow parking lot speeds when I crank the wheel I get a light clunk in the steering wheel. Also there is a little bit of up and down play in the wheel that I don't think was there before. The problem is that I can't duplicate this everytime , it only does it once in a while. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have your steering linkages inspected, as well as getting bushings for the steering rack. Sounds like there might be a problem with a tie rod.
