Bad clunk at 1500 miles??

Well ive had my 06 sti for about a month or more now and since about 500miles ive heard a really bad clunk in the rear end when leaving from a dead stop. Now im not sure if this is normal for subys. Ive built many rear ends and i nkow what this could be, but like i said im just wondering if this is a NORMAL thing.
Thanks in advance

How fast are you taking off from a dead stop? Could be differential banging back there. I have heard if you add rear diff bushings it removes the clunk but puts the force on your tranny which is worse for the car...

I know that if you shift really hard and let the clutch out to fast you'll hear that. (when I first got mine I only heard it when I shift hard into 2nd because I wasn't quite used to it yet). Now that I've gotten used to the car it never makes the sound no matter how hard I drive it.

I have not driven the car fast yet, this is just a normal rolling start, no droping the clutch or hard sliping it.

I'd take it to the dealer. Not normal at all. Good luck.

Mine is making a vibration noise when I back up in reverse and sometimes when I take off in first. It sounds like a loose exhaust hanger or something loose in the trunk. I took it to the dealer but they had their thumbs up their asses so I left. I take it to another dealer when I get a chance. Let me know if you figure out what it is.
