For some reason, the engine won't start when the two connectors are plugged into each other. Maybe its purpose was some sort of interlock like the clutch pedal switch.

Oh, and the car WILL start with them connected, but it will go into "limp" mode (i.e. little boost and fluctuating revs).

about the green connectors in WRX's... certain '03 models have the green diagnostic mode connectors under the dashboard come connected from the factory. There is a set behind the passenger side kick panel that serves the exact same purpose, and they come disconnected from the factory. As long as at least one set is disconnected, everything will work properly. If you have an '03 and have trouble reflashing it in the car, look there.
A common spark plug replacement for modified cars is the NGK BKR7E copper (BKR7EIX for iridium )plug one heat range colder than the OEM plug. from what I've found, it is nearly impossible to find at an auto parts store, and per Mr. Wingless Wonder, they can be purchased at www.clubplug.net. Apparently they are quite common for motorcycles and I found a set easily at the first bike shop I called.

Many MY02 and 03 Imprezas will develop a terrible window squeak when rolling the window up or down, usually the driver's window. A simple fix for many of these cars is the application of silicone spray in the channel next to the driver's side mirror and on the glass itself where it meets the horizontal rubber strip on the door. Cycle the window up and down to spread the silicone lubricant. Your mileage may vary but I've only had to apply it twice in almost three years.
NOTE: Do not use WD-40 on the window rubber or any other plastic, rubber, or vinyl on your car. WD-40 will degrade these materials.

If you turn the steering wheel to far when the car it off it will lock the ignition. You will have to turn the steering wheel and your key at the same time to start the car back up. I had to call the Subaru dealership, it made me 10 minutes late to work cause my brother was practicing driving.
Here's one that everyone always gets confused with.
That small center visor thingy above the rear-view mirror on WRXs is not for blocking the sun but to deflect the glare from the map lights when they are used.
Which is also why it flips the other way compared to regular sun visors.
It actually serves a purpose since WRXs have auto-dimming mirrors. When the map lights are used at night, that glare will offset our rear-view mirrors if we don't use the deflector.
