vtecs have a different set of cams that is ...(thinking of word) put into place at a certain rpm...avcs is constantly(dont ask me how) changng valve timing and lift throughout the rpms to optimize the ....ughhh...the stuff? im sorry, its late and i have too much homework. anyone else wanna try to explain?

Now I will not claim to know how ACVS works but I believe that it is a system similar to VVT-i in which the cam timing and lift are monitored constantly through the rev range in order to use the proper lift and duration for whatever type of driving the engine is being asked to do at that time. Where changes are also made to both intake and exhaust cam...
But the second part is just my opinion... I could be wrong.

man i aint got enough money, im driving my corolla(ae86) and i mean its a great car, with all the money im savin(10k for downpayment) i cant pay the monethlies and/or insurance. im getting done in the butt with high *** insurance quotes for the 04 sti. the car i want is the 04 rex or sti, but problem is i like the old gm the coupey stylish looks with big ol' fog lights.::sigh:: once i get enough for that sti i might get it, at the same time i just want something subaru like right now. haha i love em both.

I hear STi engines will fit in there very nicely

actually new is more aerodynamic(faster). i beleive it was SCC that tested it at 5.2 for 0-60 in their 8 best sport compacts, which is .2 faster than the fastest 0-60 recorded time for the old ones.

GC8 all the f' way! I used to like the bugeyed... I was considering even to buy one, but the more I looked at it, the more I started to hate it....
