The hoodscoop, the headlights, the tail lights, the seats, the sunroof... Yeah, the 04's definitely better. No doubt in my mind. I really don't like the bugeyes anyway.

I like the originals but id prefer an 04 just because of my age and the strict california smog regulations. At 18 i dont have money to drop in mods and deal with smog regulations. I envy all the pioneers with money--Todd--

I like the classic Impreza over New Age, but what I'd want even more is the old body style over the new chassis. They are similar but the new one is stiffer without adding much weight.

The new '04s are FUGLY. Loose the new headlights and tail lights.

'04 tails on a '02-'03 is doable just by carving the bumper cover a little bit with a dremel tool. I just replaced some really god awful Altezza style taillights on the otherwise really nice used '02 RS that I bought and after looking at it I now realize I could have done the '04 lights for the same price. Doh!

On the other end of the car, it may just be me but the '04 headlights that looked so cool when the first photos were shown last year have grown off me. I think they're boring and sort of generic Japanese car looking. And what about that funky hood line that goes around the lights? I like the Bugeyes better now and I don't see a Neon in them, I see a Mini or an XKE.

The GC body was really nice but is looking just a bit old as do most Subies. Next generation Imprezas should move on to some new ground and lose a couple hundred pounds at the same time. And how about a 4 inch stretch on the wheelbase so people can sit in the back seat and the driver can have an extra inch for his legs.

[B]God, those GC8's are SO 2000.... I mean gosh welcome to like 4 whole years ago...Those things are so old and outdated DUH!

:Yeah 2001 was only four model years ago but the body originated with the '93 models which means they were on the drawing board in the late 80's. So it's more like 14 years to the current Impreza platform. I like the look of Subarus but to me they usually look like one or one and half model changes behind current Honda body styles which means that they never do look "cutting edge". That isn't necessarily a bad thing it just means they're taking a safer styling route and aren't breaking any new ground. They make up for it with performance, attitude and details like scoops and spoilers etc. that set them appart from UJCs (Universal Japanese Cars) like Mitsus and Toyotas. The new Legacy is a clean, fresher look but I hope the new Impreza is a little bolder. Maybe throw in some Nissan to the mix. The 90's are history, welcome to the 21st Century.
