does you headunit have speaker time delay feature?

what this feature does is allows you set the speaker distance so they appear to be equa distant from your ears.

there are various ways of doing this. you can either enter the actual distance of the speaker or just slide a slider thingee.

this can be manual or automatic by using like an included microphone or something.

bonus is if the headunit is a non powered one, ie it doesnt have a built-in puny amp.

bonus #2 is it if has iphone connectivity. or at minimum a single AUX in.

thanks.

If I understand this correctly, then yes the Pioneer AVIC-D3 6.1" Double Din I have installed in my truck has this feature. [I am not sure that the Pioneer AVH-P 4000 in my Subie does or does not. ]

When adjusting the speaker delay it shows a "3D" [line] graph of the interior and you can adjust the speaker output/sound/volume based on where you want the focal point to be.
I am not certain on the built in AMP feature, but I dont believe it has one. I have it hooked up to a huge amp behind the back seat. :/
It has an AUX port in the front as well as an ipod/iphone hookup that I keep in the glovebox that routes directly into the back.

If you want to see what the adjustment screen looks like I can snap a few pics for you. Hope I helped...or that I understood correctly...

Probably one of the best values was the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X991. I have one and am about to buy another. High volt preamp, powerful (For a CD player) DSP with time alignment and many more silly DSP features....You should be careful with time alignment as it will affect the phase relationship between the speakers. You might creat multiple problems trying to fix one. As a general rule, less is more.....You also CAN NOT control the sound once it leaves the speakers so no amount of DSP trickery can replace good speaker location and installation.
