We'll see what happens. My money is on SuperRove flying into the rescue to save a fellow Texan conservative

No SuperRove. He's being indicted and apparently will step down.

You do realize that these thing are rampant on both sides, and some are better at manipulating the laws, right? That's no excuse, but makes pointing the finger ludicrous.

Oh well.
I was thinking about this as I drove behind a car plastered with numerous Bush stickers this morning. I know my ideals as a moderate conservative are strong, very reasonable, and true in my opinion. It's a good recipe with a bunch of half-assed cooks in the kitchen when we really need five star chefs. Honestly, this is all that matters to me. If and when those similar-minded candidates are on the ballots is an entirely different story. If you screwed the pooch then you better be willing to man-up to your actions and the consequences. I don’t care who you are.

He had to step down temporarily because of the possible sentence (2 yrs). Not much can be predicted in a case like this, personally I'd be surprised if they can make any of it stick. Its going to be hard to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. My understanding is that the issue is the source of the money the Texans for a Republican Majority political action commity contributed to an arm of the Republican National Committee. It seems that some corporations donated a lesser sum to Delay's PAC and he in turn gave that money (and then some) to the RNC with a note to earmark it to certain Texas State House candidates. To nail him they will have to prove that he conspired to get the money from the corporations for the purpose of then turning the money over to RNC. In essence "laudering" the money to circumvent Texas election code by making a corporate political contribution. It looks like he's guilty but I doubt they can make it stick. Personally I feel that if he is guilty he gets punished. Either way I have no doubt that wether or not they think he is guilty, or wether or not they think they can make it stick, moving forward with the indictment is mainly politically motivated. If they know they don't have a chance of making it stick then at least they've made him look bad.
