I LOVE alpine digital amps, I dont like everything alpine makes, I have blown out three sets of their speakers, but IMHO Alpine digital amps are the best on the market.

Also, JL subs are bad ***, however they need alot of box volume, and alot of wattage, look at Kicker subs, they wont let you down.

i would say get the 2 10w6v2s.. not really a fan of just 1 sub.. if you get the 12w7.. try to get 2 of them.. 2 subs sounds a whole lot better than just 1 even if you are coming w7s.. if you run 10w6v2 subs.. i would say get 2 500/1 JL amps also.. if you get v1s.. you would only need 1 500/1 amp.. v2s require more power.. if you get the w7.. im pretty sure a 500/1 would be strong enough.. are you try to do a all JL setup?

i am kinda on the same boat as you..
at the moment im running 3 12w6v1.. using only 1 500/1 JL amp to power them.. but that was in my crx.. not really too sure if the same box/setup would fit in my sti.. i might have to downgrade to 2 12w6s instead..

i ran JL subs with a JL 500/1 mono amp and 300/4 V2 for the speaker all around. I loved it.....really nice setup. I would match the amp to the subs. with 2 10w6's with 500watts you might still be underpowering them. you should go with the 1000/1 if you really want to hit potential....

I have a JL HO box with 2 jl 10w3v2 in them if you're interested. I love that box but i dont use it anymore. the box was factory designed by jl for those subs so they sound great.

Either way you should plan on some hefty power upgrades and perhaps some suspension upgrades as well. You can quickly add a couple hundred pounds if your not careful.
