Dude, by the time you get the transaxle, rear diff, driveshaft, half-shafts(?), clutch assembly, clutch hydraulics, pedal box assembly, ignition switch safety lock-out, neutral safety switch, short-throw shifter, center console trim, ECU, reprogrammed speedometer, ad neaseum, then throw labor ON TOP of that AND THEN possibly have to get the whole she-bang re-certified by the B.A.R. (because the V.I.N. tells the smog tech that the car came with A/T), your going to be waaaaaaaaay over $5,000!

Not to **** on your parade, but that's just the simple economics of it. You'd be better-off just getting a separate race car, and keeping your current ride as your grocery-getter. Srsly, fire-off a p.m. to Bonster (Bonnie) who races the Miata. She'll break it down and tell you what's up. There's a reason that she has a track car and a street car.

Why don't you p.m. BAN SUVS (Kevin) and see if he still has his 'totaled' 2.5RS? I mean, the car can't be that bad since I saw him driving it after the 1/4 panel got caved in. I mean, 'totaled' cars get salvaged and are reborn as race cars all the time. The beauty of it is that you can pick up a wrecked car that's still driveable for *much* less $$$ than one that's straight. Even if Kevin's car is gone, I recommend you look into finding a salvage job. It will save you alot of heartache.

word. that's the reason i'm seriously thinking about keeping my wagon an auto even after i swap in the EJ20.

$5000? No way. It can be done for much cheaper. Maybe if you paid full dealer price for everything.

Maybe.. But i got two years to get all i need before i put it in. So when the time comes i guess it will just be labor and Re certifactaion. But i belive it will be worth it in the end....to me any way. : )

do you have the tranny already? if not try to find a tranny with the grears already installed. save a few $$$

I went back to his very first post a while ago, he spelled it "Hodge" back then, but hasn't corrected anyone since.

Trust me, with a name like "Sean", I correct people all the time (then again, I'm ****-retentive). The worst part is when someone reads my name out loud and pronounces it "seen". Morons; haven't they ever seen an Irishman before???

For $2200 you can have my RS shell; it is 100% complete, so you're guaranteed to have everything you need for the swap, except for an ECU should that prove necessary. As a bonus, it has a nearly new ACT flywheel and stouter-than-stock Exedy clutch- and an EJ25. It has 170k miles, but the motor is still running strong. You'd also get the hood, grill, beatdown bumper, and brand-new eBay projector headlights. Oh, and some supafly 19" chrome Enkeis. You could drive the car home if you needed to as well, the lights are functional and all that, it jsut needs a movement permit.

PM me if you want more info and pics and all that.

Thanx dude, But kidatari is hooking it up on the tranny plus some extra ish. I bet in the long run maybe bying another car would be the best but can come up with 2k anytime soon. Good looking out though ; )

I found that light wieght drive shaft. It goes for about 7bills and change. Im thinkng of keeping the stock gearset and putting the money in the Clutch/flywheel (which i need any way) and the Drive shaft.
