If by "better Miata" you mean it's gayer looking, sloppier chassis, inferior suspension components, inferior engine and ecu, much less refined, and uses parts designed in the 70's/80's, I guess I would agree.

Some people like the more raw feeling a lighter NA gives you, but it also does all the things you mentioned too. I prefer the NB and really wish mine was an SE/sport car with the extra chassis bracing. The Base NB is only slightly stiffer chassis than a NA in my experience.

I haven't driven a ND yet, but I'm really liking the 09+ NC with 6spd and sport suspension package.

I actually kinda liked the more substantial feeling of the NC, but yeah the interior has more plastic than a Kardashian
