Tell 'em you hate white people. When they point out you appear to be of a fairer skin yourself, tell them it doesn't matter...
Just keep grumbling, "Kurlee hateses dem crackuhs..."
The worst that can happen is that they deem you mentally incapable of being on the Jury.
Just don't go smearing feces around the bench, that'll get you arrested.
PHCUK I'm BORED! Work blows today... sorry.

twice in my life...
1st time: alternate. but trial, double murder lasted 2 months... GRRRRRRRR
then 2 years later, again, it lasted 2 months. this time white collar crime. and we had a hung jury, because of 1 person who couldnt see the facts...
i saw, forget the current jury system. instead, hire professional jurors.

I've never served on a jury. When I was young, I used to try to get out of it. Now that I want to serve, I never make it to the jury box. I'd report to the courthouse and then report to my assigned courtroom, watch each prospective juror be called up to the jury box, questioned, and excused or selected. Closest I've gotten is about four people left to be called to the jury box.
I just want to see if I can make a good jurist and follow the judge's instructions without letting my own feelings about the perp, defense attorneys, or prosecutors interfere with what I, as a jurist, is expected to decide. Can I be impartial and stick to the facts as presented? I'd like to find out.
I get paid by my job when I am called for jury duty so it isn't a financial hardship. My hat's off to people I met who are self-employed with a small business - they told me that it's a hardship but they like the idea of participating in the judicial process.

Hey, I was just at jury duty today at Redwood City! Waste of a good three hours... the parties settled out of court, so everyone was excused. At least I got some Shadows of Undrentide in while we were waiting.
Thank god for laptops... if only I had remembered to bring my wireless card, I would have been posting as well...

I was a juror in a child molestation case. We found the guy guilty (he was really, really guilty... 100%). Anyway, I learned a lot from it, and Im kinda glad I did it. However, I don't wanna do it again, even though I will if I'm required to.

Check this out. So I go to Jury Duty on Tuesday. I get there at 10:30am and sit in the waiting room for 3 hours. Then the lady over the intercom states that our panel # gets to go home and come back Thursday(today).
So I get there at 8:00am and sit around for another 2 hours. We go into a court room, and the judge states that the case will be 6 months or more. So I state financial hardship. He allows me and almost everyone else stating financial hardship to go back to the waiting room. THen I wait another 1 hour. Then the lady over the intercom says, come back in 2 hours. So I go get lunch and come back at 1:30pm. Then sit around for another hour and a half. Then some lady comes in and tells us that we won't be needed, so go home.
W T F is that? Why waste my time like that. I got isht to do at work and now I am gonna be super busy tomorrow.
At least I won't be called upon for another year, guarnanteed!!!
Jury Duty is a complete waste of time.
