that aint right! i just moved to san carlos from redwood city, and never got a jury summons. then i get a letter in the mail from Peggy Thompson, the jury commisioner stating that im going to jail for skipping jury duty, and a whole lot of other technical mumbo jumbo bull****, and then when i call, she say im exempt from this one b/c i went in Dec. what the **** is going on with the judicial system?
Believe me, I know exactly what you mean. I was summoned a few months back, but when I checked the website to see if I was needed they told me to call the next morning. Long story short, I call the recording and it says I'm not required to appear. I guess they messed up and my group actually was required, got the same letter. Rediculous.

Close call there huh? Yeah, roommies with Big Bubba... um... thanks for the offer, but no.
I got summoned for jury duty, I was freakin paranoid about it. Called and check the website constantly worrying and hoping I didn't get called up. The whole jury selection has gone through hell.

Dude Walt, you and the legal system just don't mix
Me? I kinda look forward to jury duty in a sick way. Maybe it's because I already work for the Courts though

If you seriously want to find out if you have any warrants then you can go to the S.J. courthouse , and ask the clerk. Don't tell them that your the person that your inquiring about
and they can't arrest you. Peace of mind

otherwise, you know how the post office LOSES tons of mail... right?
i used to have a coworker who NEVER goes to jury duty. she would burn her summons. and she said unless the mail was sent via a way where there was a confirmation that she PHYSICALLY received it... they cant essentially do anything...
of course YMMV so...
I finally got summoned for jury duty, but since the first day of jury duty was my first day of school I couldn't go. I sent in the form and havent heard from them since. I cant wait until I become a police officer and get exempt from jury duty!

set the date for your jury notice to be a week before school starts.
in case you get a long trial (my first 2 and hopefully LAST ONES) were 8 weeks... EACH!!!!!!!
so if you do get called in, and you are asked by the judge, tell them your school is starting in a week.
the last one i was in, even some chick in a FASHION design school was excused...
