ECMs from cars with immobilizer systems are branded and will only work on that car. Unless you change out/swap a bunch of ****, it's useless.
BTW, turning off monitors will be detectable when going in for a smog check, but then again, What the **** do I know.

Warranty claims can only be denied by a visual inspection for abuse. In those cases Subaru rep comes out and investigates (takes pictures). Car has to look like it rolled of the track pretty much to get a dennyied warranty claim. And also it depends what the issue is. Major mechanical breakdowns like ring collapsed or blown gears will likely get a suby reps review.
