Question about Voiding Warranty?
Question about Voiding Warranty?
Hey,
I am currently in the market for a '06 WRX, and was talking to a dealer about Warranty and what exactly would void it. So I brought up installation of a navi system I plan to put in after I buy it, but the dealer insists that this would void the entire warranty. I smell lies, but could anybody confirm this? I have searched all over this site and a large portion of the internet, and unable to find a good answer :[

When i was working at Ferrari, correct me if im wrong or if it is different anyone, but a warranty is only void if a problem that occurs is due to a modification.....
Like your clutch goes out, damage to motor or trans mounts and you happen to have any power mods

Legally the dealer has to prove a mod caused a failure to refuse warranty work, but in the real world, dealers will claim abuse and it's extrememly rare for sombody to take them to court over it...
