avoid voiding the warranty.

Hey everyone. If this is a misplaced thread I apologize, and i fail at searching so if there another one of these sorry again.

So i have a 2013 wrx and was wondering what I can do with out voiding the warranty performance wise. Also side note was wondering if anyone knows of someone who can build piping for exhaust and such. Thank you!

or stg2 and swap back to stock if you ever take it in to the stealer for work

I have been very impressed with how some of the recent 09+ cars performed with a custom stage1 map though. Love that vf52

Sway bars are a good place to start. Stage 1 as well. Get an accessport or just go get a pro tune.

Once the ECU is flashed, it's permanently visible, even if it's unmarried.

And the only way a tech would miss a car recently returned to stock is if they are bad at what they do or aren't paying attention. There are some obvious signs of it.

OP, short shifter, sway bars, and catback 1st. Anything that will make a dent powerwise can potentially affect your warranty.

Explain.

Do you work for SOA? Or just regurgitating information?

I was a Subaru service adviser, but if you want to say I'm regurgitating info that would be true as well. However what I'm repeating came directly by Cobb employees who I've known collectively for 19 years.

Got it, so no real hands on experience or even a clue of how it even works, just scaring kids into not modding their cars.

I'd like to actually be proven wrong by someone that actually knows a thing or two about subaru ecu's. Any ideas?

Just to be clear since you missed it the 1st time: What I said is straight from the horse's mouth. Cobb.

You claimed something which I think is total crap.

You tried to pass it off as your own info, then when I called you on it you're referencing information I'm challenging.

Can you actually post a link to cobb saying this?

PS: more importantly, can you actually show me some information that would prove that SOA or the local stealership actually voided someone's warranty based solely on this software check of the ecu you're referring to?

Nope, I did no such thing. The bold statement is reference to loose and scratched bolts and clean parts. Cobb never came into play until your post, and I immediately credited them (re: this post).

I don't have a link of them saying it because it was stated multiple times in person as one of their facilities was 20 minutes from where I lived at the time.

Vladi, AFAIK, they can tell if the ROM has been reflashed, I think the stock rom has your VIN in it? And Umarrying it doesn't put the vin back in? Or something or the other.

Incorrect on both counts.

PS: if someone has any legitimate information I'm all ears. But for the past 6+ years I've yet to see any evidence otherwise.
BTW I have mapped my fair share of scoobs still under warranty

I know that you do tune subbies, but, well, now I'm confused, because I've heard both sides being argued so vehemently by tuners, "subaru techs" and people whom are supposedly knowledgeable at this stuff
