The Norwegian suffered a punctured tyre on the opening test and overheating problems with the cooling system and engine on his Subaru Impreza on the second two, but was able to get back to service with a 30-second lead after opening up the significant margin and defending it.

Sweet.
What I'm really happy about (aside from obvious reasons) is the stage times Mikko put down after he restarted under SupeRally rules. 4 4th fastest stages, 1 2nd fastest stage time and 5 3rd fastest stage times (and 3 others in the top 6 I think). It really bodes well for Mikko next year. I hope Subaru holds on to him for 2005.

Solberg Wins !

Congrats to Petter & Phil and SWRT on another WIN

(3 Rallies 3 Wins)
Petter Solberg is the winner of the 2004 Rally Italia Sardinia, more than two minutes ahead of Sebastien Loeb in second position. The Subaru driver finished the race by winning the final stage of the event, 4"4 seconds faster than Marcus Gronholm in second place.
Solberg's dominating performance increases his hopes of catching Loeb in the championship. The Frenchman still has an important lead: 100 points against 74 points for the Norwegian.
Carlos Sainz drove his Citroën Xsara to a third place finish. The Spaniard moves up to third position in the drivers' championship standings, two points in front of Markko Martin.
Andrea Navarra crosses the line in fourth position, his best career result in WRC. The Italian is followed by Francois Duval in fifth, Gigi Galli in sixth, Marcus Gronholm in seventh and Antony Warmbold in eighth.
PG Andersson wins the race in the Junior category at the wheel of his Suzuki Ignis.
