I tried to use photoshop but almost every time the pictures ended up looking too fake. So I try not to make any adjustments to my pictures and leave them the way the camera captured them.

Actually I had CS2 on my old PC and when I switched over to my Mac I downgraded to Elements 4.0. Seems to work fine for when I do need it (underexposed subjects, total color removal, sharpening out of focus subjects).
Lightroom looks more user freindly though. I never did like the Photoshop layaout.
BTW, anyone looking to unload their Nikon D200, let me know. I'm looking to upgrade from my D40. I want more than the D80 and don't want to spend the money and a brand new D300.

I would be down for a day shoot and weekends would be best for me too.
I like the idea of Yosemite for a shoot. I was there last January and got some great shots. Another really cool place is Mono Lake http://www.monolake.org/ It's about a 6 hour drive in the summer (4 hours at night!) and a lot longer in the winter because 120 is closed. Any season there is beautiful.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but using photoshop to "adjust" photos really feels like cheating - unless you're making them so weird that it is obvious something has been done to the picture.
Taking good photos takes practice, and a good eye. Did any of you see the Ansel Adams exhibit a few years ago? You could really see the progress he made over the years.

We can park at my work and leave most of the cars there, maybe I can get the yukon from my parents for the day. I work about 20 mins north of the pic spots and it's right off of hwy 1.

Hey Wael, were you going to make a thread about it? I'm happy to have everyone down to where I work to consolidate cars. It's a big parking lot and I'm the manager of my branch so we won't have any problems parking our cars there for the day. Let me know if you want any details.
