i used the 70-200mm 2.8/L for the time attack at Laguna this past year and got some pretty close shots, but i think if you were to go for like Motogp there, not sure the places we had access to at the time attack we could normally shoot from...

I have a Nikon F301 from the mid 80's with a couple of Tokina zoom lenses and a doubler. I also have a Ricoh AF-5, age unknown. Film still rules in this house!
I use a SystemPRO Monopod instead of a tripod, it is a lot easier to carry around.

Here are some shots i did. Still really new to photography so any and all advice would be appreciated. I haven't been messing with any settings, maybe just the focus. All the pictures are taken with a D40 the stock lens.

Very impressive! Especially for just the kit lens. Imagine what you can do with some better glass
I forgot about this pic of my God daughter walking around the living room (D40 w/ kit lens)

It's not much, but I like her facial expression.

CF would be nice of course, but the only time id pay more would be for weight savings or fluid head for video.
You guys should buy a 2.5lb circle weight and figure out a way to mount it to the main shaft, I did it for a steady cam for video, but i leave it on during pictures, it just feels better to me

hello,
i'm a very amateur photographer lol I have a Fuji S9100 that i've just started playing with a few weeks ago, had it a year though, but didnt know diff settings. just started shooting in RAW and working on editing (dont know anything bout photoshop and tryin to do some HDR's)
im down for a photography learning session, preferably nature because that is what i prefer to shoot, however i can make it dramatic as it is in real life. that would be cool if we carpooled to nice nature locations? just a thought.
what sites do u guys post your hi-res images on? preferably free! my stuff is all just on my comp, just have this hosted, which is a small percentage of my good shots. i have most my good stuff in my actual portfolio binder in 8x10's:

i use a Nikon D40x with the stock lens, and occasionally a cheap wide angle adapter, that occasionally produces good results
good idea for this thread, it will be cool to learn from each other on here.
