Still saving my duckets for my pistons and rings and block work. My homie Adam did give me a Gimmick Racing 170 Thermostat that fails open (score). I have about half the money, playing the waiting game. Hopefully by the end of the month I can start this build again.

Ok, back to business. JE coated pistons and rings + Cosworth bearings ordered today. Should be here Friday. Taking the block in Monday for the cylinder prepping and whatnot. Got a good deal on the bits. I almost went for the .5 overbore pistons but decided to stick with the stock size.
I will get pics of them up once I recieve them. WOOT! It's been about a month since I stopped work. Made 3 car and insurance payments since the motor has been out, that hurts! Can't even stop the insurance because the bank loan requires it
.
Hopefully by the end of next week or weekend the motor should be back together (god and whatever willing

You know when it comes to this stuff I been there done that more times that I want to remember...
DO NOT use stock size pistons for your old block. I dunno who the **** told you that you could get away with going with just a hone and throwing in stock sized pistons but whoever it was is obviously retarded. You MUST have the block bored out .5 in order to bring the cyliners back to round again. What happens is over time, your cylinders will become oval (just a teeny bit) and maybe just one or 2 of them but you will not get a very good ring seal and if you do by chance get a decent ring seal you will be putting to much stress on the rings by making them conform to the ovaled cylinder walls.
Please, do it right the first time and order the over sized pistons and rings. If you are just concerned about spending too much money, save some on the coating as its doesn't do anything "magical" by having coated pistons in the block. Forged is good enough and the rings that JE sends out with their pistons are coated standard, regardless if your psitons are coated or not.
Good luck!

Called and got the .5 overbore pistons, GST was cool about switching the order. Still getting them coated.
I am taking the block to S&H to rebore. They did a great job cleaning up my heads.
So weren't you supposed to be in town and hooking up with me? I haven't seen or heard from you in like 6 months and bam, you all the sudden pop up and post. I don't even have a valid # for you anymore....
GET IN TOUCH!!!

VF-39 bolt? Do you mean the turbo to DP bolts?
I think all turbo related bolts are a regular ol' m10 (or maybe m12) bolt, with 1.25 thread pitch?
If not, then disregard the above :P

No...the bolts for the oil/coolant return lines. Jeremiah was going to send me the ones that he removed from the VF39. The top bolts look bigger than M12. The return line on the bottom could very well be M10 or M12...
Thanks though!

I am a little frustrated since they weren't included in our orginal deal for the turbo (which I sold cheaper than most @$125) and upon your request after the sale I said I would find them and ship them, which I did. I told you a month ago I would tell you the bolt sizes and even paypal you some cash so you could go get new ones.
oh well, bolts are in the mail....

Dude...your funny. You didn't seem very frustrated a couple days ago when you pm'ed me back apologizing for the delay in sending them off. You did offer the cash and help in finding the bolt sizes for me.
I said I could wait and I did. I waited several weeks actually. So I have been very patient.
On January 11th I asked if you could help me with the bolt sizes:
Never heard anything but you were still posting to this thread, so I PM'ed again. By January 17th I was ready to just get the bolts and I PM'ed to ask you to help me find the correct sizes (since you offered earlier). You responded back:
The 23rd rolled around and still hadn't seen or heard anything. So I sent out another PM checking on status with my address in case you lost it.
The 29th I PM'ed again asking for the bolt sizes if you weren't going to send the original bolts:
So I got your response:
At no time during our PM's did you say or act upset or bothered about getting me the bolts. If you didn't want to be bothered I wish you would've just said so and I would've moved on. But it seemed like you were willing to help since you weren't going to be using the parts on your new turbo anyway.
I wish all the parts were included in the original deal to begin with and it would've saved us all some trouble. Or at the least just let me know the bolt sizes and I would've been fine with that.
I'm sorry to have been a bother to you. I didn't mean to inconvenience you.
I hope you and your girlfriend get well soon!

And I was selling a turbo, I listed everything that went with it, and it was fine for you to buy @ that price I sold it. Please STOP posting in my motor build thread. That is what is REALLY annoying me. All in all it's really not a big deal and I hope you enjoy the turbo. peace.
