1: I-club would not make a sub-forum for Humboldt county, AKA REAL Northern California, so posting here is the closest we get.
2: Your post is not relevant to this thread. **** off.
Looks good. I will stop by tomorrow around 5.

ATTN ALL HUMBOLDT COUNTY MEMBERS!
I need some help today.
Where: My house on Humboldt Hill.
When: from 3-9pm today (Tuesday). (and also all day this Saturday).
My back is messed up pretty bad (L5 S1 crushed) and I need some help if you guys have the time. This is basically a pitty call
. I can pay you some cash but not too much. I am putting my cams back in, heads back on, porting my header ends for my new cross pipe, and a few other misc things. Hopefully by Sunday the motor will be ready to put back in the car. If you don't feel like wrenching that's ok too, come kick it and maybe learn something about your car. PM me if you need my phone number and address if you don't have it.

Got the one head on today. Man the torque order for everything is retarded detailed and tedious. I did follow it to a T though. Had a little help from my neighbor. I really like these ARP Head Studs. They go in like butter and are of a much better quality and design.

Well the rain looks like it is finally stopping. Time to get to work and get the drivers side head installed.
Once again if ANYONE can come lend me a hand I will be working until it gets dark so PLEASE come over if you can, doesn't matter how long you can stay.

Even though moving this thread was the death of it I guess will still post in case any one is subscribed or something.
Well got the other head on as well as the new water pump, pulleys, and spark plugs today. My neighbor Joe came over to help turn wrenches with me again. Hella nice of him.
halfway through getting the left head on.

Torquing down the new sick ARP head studs. I have to say again what a CRAZY detailed process it is to torque the heads down correctly. It did however go a lot faster than the first one. That's how it works most the time, faster the second time around.

My neighbor Joe humping my motor. This guy cracks me up and it's nice to have some competent help.

Starting to look like an actual motor a little bit now.

I got some stuff to take care so I most likely won't get back to until Monday. Knock on wood it's going pretty smooth.

Ok, here is what I did today and yesterday. Got all the cam pulleys on and ported my headers pieces and assembled the exhaust manifold. I started with a dremel and it wasn't cutting it (no pun intended) You can use the dremel, it will just take you a week to remove enough material. I ended up having to break down and fork out $100 for a Makita Die Grinder and $20 for a Carbide bit. Well it worked, still took 3 hrs!
Anyways it's done and it should be a nice gain in flow.
Here is how it was before I started.

Here is what the dremel did after about 1 hr.

Here is what the die grinder accomplished.

Finished product.

Took off almost 3/8's worth of materia and tapered that down 3" into each piece (gasket matched).
Tomorrow I will put this on and hopefully get my intake manifold painted black and installed. We shall see.
