gotta keep positive. It pays off. I like to remember something i read.. "lack of preperation on your behalf does not constitute an emergency on my behalf".. so i stay prepared... and also, "a diplomat is a person who can tell somebody to go hell in such a way that they actually look forward to the trip." This taught me so many things.

Let me know when you plan on coming out. I'll make sure the crew knows and that I show up while you're there. Welcome to this side of the bay.

Thanks for the offer. I already have a transmission job half way paid off. The transmission is built. I'm just struggling to come up with the 2nd half of the money. It will happen. It just cant happen fast enough.

Just read this entire thread this morning. All the good Karma out there to ya. So inspiring to me how strong you are through all of this. You deserve to start having some things go your way! Good luck with the new tranny till you get your tax return 6-speed.

6 speed is still a tax return dream. I'll start looking a couple months before tax season for the parts. I'll be looking for an '04 STi swap. Who knows!! I may just be content with the 09 gears job which I'm doing if i can ever pay the rest of it. It's tough to know that the transmission is built and waiting for me and I just cant get it installed at the moment. Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure by this point, the thread could be broken down into chapters All i wanna do is be able to take my car to BAM. Two years in a row its been down during the event. This year I'll probably be able to get it done a month after the event. BAHHHH :faceplam:

You know what sucks is that the V7 sti clip I got a bunch of parts from had the 6spd non DCCD, driveshaft and rear diff with axels, and the shop sold it for $3500. Only had about 60k on it to.

thats a pretty competitive price. Speaking of price. Have you ever had to retain a lawyer? 1000 for a one day appearence for a few hours. I can't believe it. Instead of fixing my car, I may have to start selling parts off it. This is nuts.
I'm gonna create a checklist now which i will be revisiting and checking off as i battle them.

1. Broken transmission
Status:50% paid not sure when ill ever have the other 50% based on everything else.

2.Melanoma
Status: going in for operation september 9th. This whole process has been so expensive. People have asked, well dont you have insurance? Yes, I have great insurance, but they only cover percentages. An average Dr. visit ends up costing close to 400 after all of the ongoing bloodwork/xrays/lab work, pathology. If i didnt have insurance, I'd be in over 35K in debt right now.

3. body work on car due to autostart malfunction.
Status: forget about it.. its not that bad and i can postpone that as long as needed.

4. custody hearing
status: This is gonna cost me thousands. Hearing on Sep 30th. Keep fingers crossed for me guys. This will all get better. I've lived a decent and honest life, and I have great friends because of it. It's the friends which matter, especially after hearing exactly how much a court case costs to defend myself even though i've done nothing wrong. My son lives with me and has for longer that he lived with her. His mother decides all of a sudden she wants him back and files papers so now i have to go and kind of audition to keep him. I will fight. We will win. Many of you have met his son and have seen how I've helped him grow and develop. I hope the court system treats me fairly and sees through her drama.

The funny thing is all of these things have a dollar amount on them. With a couple million dollars, I'd have the best DRs working on me, I'd be able to pay off the ex wife cause its money she is after anyway, the car would be totally fixed, and I'd be taking you guys out to pizza Cheers to more positivity and I appreciate i-club being here so i can vent. It makes the day to day stuff much more manageable.

I toasted the radiator and front end of my 02' bugeye, Transmission has ~110k miles and the only problem is fourth gear will occasionally grind on long freeway trips. I had someone look over the transmission and said it's in pretty good condition overall. If you're interested the car is in Napa, shoot me a PM.

Special thanks to many folks. My car is back on the road and made it to bam this year. I hav. 2009 gears in my 2002. Th gears are more suited for the extra power. I think it is the perfect compromise for the guys approaching 300awhp but cant justify the 6+ grand to do a clean 6sp swap.
